Oh!! I have,in the past,run my phone out of data,just because I could not stop watching the Yixing teapot masters make it look so effortless. I love the teapots,I own the full range,from machine made,half handmade,and fully handmade. The differences are VERY noticeable,but a fully handmade is,well,it’s like holding a river stone,that has been washed over for ages,it is almost agate-like. I cherish my time with my teapots,it never ceases to exite me🥰

fascinating to see how the teapots are made. Do you know any artist teach classes?
@nannuoshan7 ай бұрын
It’s not common for artists to teach, but probably some might be up for giving a high-level tea class. Don’t expect to be able to craft a pot after a few hours of training though 😊

For the week that it takes to make a fully handmade pot, is that whole week spent making one pot or are others made concurrently? Like while one is curing a bit another one is started?
@nannuoshan7 ай бұрын
One week is the time needed before curing, so the time needed to work on a single teapot, not on multiple ones at the same time.

is there any indicator to tell a machine made zini pot from a half handmade one?
@nannuoshan7 ай бұрын
The only clear indication I can think of is if the shape is not axially symmetric, as only axially symmetric shapes can be turned by machine. Besides this, you can look at circular lines inside the pot that may indicate turning, but this in not a black&white indicator. The overall quality of the pot should also help, but poorly handmade may look worst than finely machined.

@@nannuoshan ok I see... or maybe rough vs. smooth surface of the clay on the inside? Maybe machine turned pots are smooth on the inside?
@nannuoshan6 ай бұрын
@@maksspiga1106 not really, half-handmade and fully handmade can also be very smooth on both in and outside.

Machine-made pots don’t have a base slab seam where the side wall and base slab connect. Not an authentic one at least. Some of the machined pots have a fake seam. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmqraoeJnJp1jc0si=tb8eoyCHpWdKEH2V kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5vShGSIoNhnhqssi=2XuZbwCExfzpnrg2

Machine made looks like a solid unit without any seams. However, they sometimes fake it, so just see if the workings make sense. @@maksspiga1106

These teapots are not supposed to be cleaned or washed. The tea brewed over years gets absorbed into pottery and adds to flavor of future brews.
