Exploring York, England on foot in 2024: The Good, Bad and Ugly

All video clips recorded by Luke Honeythunder during 3 separate visits to York / England. During those 3 trips I recorded more than 400 video clips including 11 Buskers so choosing what to put in my video and what to leave out was hard, if I'd put everything in the video that I wanted to it would have been longer than "Gone with the wind" haha. 😀 I'm not on any social media and if you are then it will be doing me a massive favour if you posted this on yours, Facebook, Twitter and all the rest of them. Hiya baz, thanks very much for watching my video and taking time to leave a comment. I live just south of Newcastle and I love York, I go down on the train maybe once a month. I went down during lockdown, I went all over the place during those times and thought it was brilliant. A number of times during my travels back then I would be the only passenger in the carriage I was in. 😄. I love a wander round The Shambles, early morning is lovely and quiet with hardly anybody there but through the day especially at weekends people are crammed in like sardines.. Take care my friend, maybe I'll see you on my next adventure.

@@bazfen I have a train ticket for Monday, 5th August. I'm going to Liverpool and hoping to record a lot of stuff the 5 hours I'll be there. I don't know if you know this but when I'm out and about on my travels I go looking for Buskers / Street Entertainers and I record them. A couple of months ago, in May I started another KZbin channel which I called "Buskers UK" and if you were to go watch some of my video's on there I'm sure you'll be impressed, there is a lot of absolutely brilliant Buskers on our streets. That is a good question and I would love to know myself. They were protesting something or other and I was in York at the time recording different stuff, anything I found to be interesting so when I heard them making a racket walked over and started recording, which I'm legally entitled to do saying as I was standing in a public place. These Muppets seemed to take offence at being recorded but hey ho, I don't get intimidated by a bunch of dopey old blokes so carried on regardless. 😀

@@lukehoneythunder constructive honest criticism. Loved the way it was edited great style. You know what you doing. There was nothing in the post that couldn't be found elsewhere. Having worked in York I know it well there is do much more of the history of York in the street other than the main tourist sites

@@lukehoneythunder I like post for being different in style. Keep it up you are good I first visited York around 60 years ago. Its changed alot since then. Mostly for the good. However the Harry Potterisation of the Shambles has turn what was a fascinating street to walk down into a parade of nasty shops selling cheap tourist tat. And as in most cities those buskers with a PA scretching cover versions should be removed to a remote island in the Atlantic. Some busker are good but many need singing and performances lessons

A'hhh yes The Shambles, every time I have a wander round here there is a massive queue of (mostly Japanese and American tourists) gullible idiots waiting sometimes for an hour or more to go inside "The York Ghost Merchants" shop where they can purchase their very own Ghost. Both hilarious and tragic at the same time if you ask me. Just like everywhere else these days that tries every trick in the book to part Simpletons from their cash they have a website where one can go to order and have delivered their own unique Ghost by Post.
