I like your new setup Graham, it looks super cool! I’ll miss the “Exploring” videos, but I can totally understand the travel aspect of it would be a heavy burden. I hope you can still do occasional videos like that, just with digital travel (like seeing the Great Wall outside your window). ~ Wonderful pilot, Graham!! There IS so much you can cover even at home and you already did share much info in this first, new vid. I like the google fillers, haha! I too google a lot & learn definitions there; sadly, gone are the days of the dictionary books. Speaking of ancient, those dinosaur stamps are awesome & it’s cool to learn about the “blackline masters” (teacher term...I already forgot the name of those “pre-stamps”). Great job! Nice new room & stamp canvases you had made! Love the navy blue walls! (blues are my fave colors)! Fun fact: The longest stamp was issued on my birthday!! Cool, cool! :D Saw the turquoise mug in ad on the side...darn, I missed it when I ordered the black one. Maybe I’ll have to get it too! I wore the ES tee the other day & it was comfy. :) Ok, I should stop now...lol

I loved the original series that explored the story or history of a specific stamp, it is definitely what gets me excited about stamp collecting. It was cool when you went travelling around the world to show the sites depicted, but not necessary. If possible, a smaller segment that still focuses on understanding/explaining the decisions that made the stamps in the first place in the new format would be appreciated. Looking forward to the new series! Thanks for everything, I am always excited when I see a new video uploaded.

Hi Graham. Love your new direction here. From your recent APS talk I discovered just how many hours and hours it takes to make the Exploring Stamps videos, so I understand the new approach. I think it's a great move for bringing the worldwide stamp community together in an online forum. One suggestion: why not have a 'slot' in future videos for subscribers to send in their own 60 second videos on something in their collection? Maybe you could announce future themes in advance and get subscribers to share their short videos, social media stamp posts or even send you some items based on the theme which you could work into the video. Part of the fun would be seeing how you build the theme around contributions and partly to see if what has been submitted makes it into the final edit. I definitely want one of those Penny Black masks! Take care and best wishes!

Great new format, Graham. Love it. But, about that Hungarian dinosaur sheet. Was that really a signature, or a pen cancellation?
@ExploringStamps
@ExploringStamps 4 жыл бұрын
Ah, 🤔. Is not every pen cancellation technically a postman’s signature? 🤔

Absolutely superb. I'm lost for words (which might be a first). Coincidentally I always get interrupted by ice cream vans too!! Seriously though, thank you so so much for promoting my page, it means everything to me. I will message you via twitter.

Hello Graham, I very much like the new format where you can discuss a lot more about not only the stamps, but also about the blogs, communities and much more. However, could you please chip in some videos like in the older format? A bit of both would be even more exciting to have in my opinion.

Hi Graham, Hi Laura (nice to be introduced officially). Love the way you put your videos together and as an avid collector I find them both enjoyable and informative. I look at KZbin all the time, but as I'm old and not a Techi (don't know if that's the right word or in the right context) I do not (wouldn't know how to begin) use twitter (couldn't even tell you what it is really, I certainly don't know what a Vlog is), but I do know stamp collecting can be a lonely hobby, especially if no one in the family is interested. Sadly searches on KZbin seldom turn anything up that seem worthwhile (except yours of course), so I will be watching your channel with renewed interest. You have given a couple of channels I can explore, and I will go to them after this. As a collector with limited funds, some of the stamps I need to further my collection are beyond my financial reach, so for the last few years I have been searching the internet for a 'Swap Shop' where I might be able to trade my stamps on a like for like basis. The bulk of my collection is GB Victorian which is substantial both in terms of variety and value, but I have not been able to find a suitable site in which to trade, so if any visitors to your site could recommend I would appreciate it. Good luck Graham and Laura and I look forward to your next episode.

If you haven't already you should check out some of the online stamp forums, some of which have been around for many years. My favorites are StampoRama (stamporama.com), The Stamp Forum (thestampforum.boards.net/) and the Stamp Community Forum (www.stampcommunity.org/). Each has their own style and features but they are each full of helpful friendly knowledgeable people. There are no costs to membership.

@@ExploringStamps An interesting program could look at stamp inventory software, I have been using EzStamp from Softpro for a number of years now. You can download a free sample. Works very well for my needs. Probably others out there as well.

I think this was existing and a great turn on your channel Graham. With your ability to communicate this will help and guide old and new collectors in the world of #philately. Also the technical quality of your vlog/programs are excellent. (I guess you have had a look at P. McKinnon and the likes) I look forward to the next episodes. And great to se you supporting wife Laura to. I guess she deserves a lot of thumbs up for getting the channel to the level it is today. And I guess you (the two of you) will produce some episodes where you travel and share #philately the "old style" when it suits so. Lot of thumbs up from Norway
