Yeah I can see how those improvements on the barn made the foreground pop more.

Hello, I just wondered what colours you used for the distant hill, ( the grey). It’s always interesting to see how your work takes shape. At first it seems too loose, but subsequent washes make it ‘pop’.

Thankyou for this beautiful tutorial. I still have a problem with the front house because the tree in the foreground shortens the lefthand side of the gable so one's brain initially turns the gable round. I'm afraid still see a green roof.

I’m betting you would have caught it. It always pays for me to come back a couple days to take another look. I’m usually surprised at what I see and make changes!

Second comment…I have an older painting hanging in my breakfast room that I have long been a bit unhappy with the foreground. A person recently came into my house and said that very painting is spectacular…. I know she was talking about the background which I also like. This painting is probably 4 years old and I keep thinking about going back in and softening a little of the foreground…is it too late?..any comments? (I’m not really very experienced). Thank you!
