Matthew I thank you so much for the fantastic video and brilliant teaching. I will try painting the light. Greetings from München/Germany ❤ 1 day later: I have tried today. I got the light right but the surroundings are very bad!

Great lesson! Looks like you started using masking tape for your paintings. Did you walk away from moistening both sides of the paper?
@learntopaintwatercolor Жыл бұрын
I should have mentioned this in the video, I tape down nocturne scenes because I don’t do a wet into wet first wash. I also tape down plein air paintings so they don’t blow away.

This was incredibly helpful! I noticed you taped the paper down here. Did you still wet both sides, or have you stopped doing that method as much?
@learntopaintwatercolor Жыл бұрын
I still dampen both sides unless it's a nocturne or plein air painting.
@WalkerFrankeArt Жыл бұрын
@@learntopaintwatercolor Oh nice! I apologize if I missed this in a previous video, but why specifically for a nocturne? Is it so you can create darker values easier?
@sandi4265 ай бұрын
Wonderful, but I'm curious why you did not think the sidewalk along the fence would be good to add.

Hey Matthew. Could you do a tutorial like this using cellulose/pulp paper. Im finding it a real challenge to do this on the only paper I can afford at this time. Thanks

Great video as always Matt. Was the first brush used an Escoda Versatil? What size was that? Also, what angle was the painting for this? Thanks
@learntopaintwatercolor Жыл бұрын
it was a size 14 dream catcher. www.cheapjoes.com/catalog/product/view/id/9647/s/cheap-joe-s-dream-catcher-round-size-14/ I paint at a 35 degree angle.

the music is so annoyingly loud, you don't really have a loud voice so why put the loud melody in the background??
