It's been 9 years. This video is still loved like it was the first time I watched it. Nothing contradicts my emotions like this. I cry every time. The song itself is amazing; I love Explosions in the Sky. The video makes it entirely. My emotions crescendo within me, it makes me long for a time long passed. Can you feel nostalgia for things you've never experienced? This video will forever be my favorite. I wish I could capture it in a music box.
@SatieGnossienne2 жыл бұрын
The Welsh word 'hiraeth' supposedly describes a longing for a place you've never been to (I think?), so maybe that's relevant to what you're feeling. At any rate, I don't know if it's nostalgia for me as well, necessarily, but I share your overall experience :) it's been several years since I last watched this music video and I still get teary-eyed. Even though I can't really keep track of the characters and who we're seeing grow old, it just feels like we're being allowed a peek into someone's life, and its beauty is tenfold enhanced by the amazing music that accompany these pictures. What a blessing it is to have found this band, and also to see other comments sharing the same feelings that their music evokes in me :')

The fact that this has no lyrics and has the emotional impact it does is truly amazing. The story, the ending, is so genius. The way the story unfolds, the music unfolds, unbelievable. I couldn’t help but break out in tears at the end.

My interpretation of this song is the journey of life. In the beginning it’s soft, innocent but after the 4 min mark it goes into adulthood and the video shows it. When we are children the world is soft and innocent but turns into a chaotic mess but we find beauty in it none the less. We find eachother, our people, and through those people we are able navigate through the chaos and give chance to new beginnings for our children. What a fucking beautiful song and video through and through

To remember the simpler times. To think how so much has changed. How much I haven't. I grew yes. I have changed. I never lowered myself tho. I never changed. I am just more full. Carrying more. Finding more reason to keep this attitude I have carried for years. Sometimes I wish I wasn't this positive and kind. Many times I am glad I was that kid growing up. Despite being alone at home. At school I wasn't. Ari and Fabian glad I was that much of a influence on you.
