8:33 I'll be back later and edit this comment after some testing 1st edit: alright, i did a some teating and it seems like there is no way of leading ammo from chests into the ammo container. I tried every possible thing i could think of. I even tried leading the ammo through a craftbot 2nd edit: i found a ginormous exploit, you can plant spuds (not the seeds, actual potatoes) by connecting a vacuum pump with an ammo container. Tht pump will then shoot slow spuds that then get planted. If you shoot that plot again, th plant grows INSTANTLY. One crop gives you 5 spuds, for the process you need two spuds, that allows you to make 3 spuds in 3 SECONDS WITH ONLY ONE PLOT! IT EVEN WORKS WITH OTHER SEEDS LIKE BROCCOLI!!!!!!!!!!

Workshop idee: Make the craftbot a blacksmith. Put it in a litte hut with a wall behind it. Behind the wall there are the chest's with pipes conected to the craftbot. Make a door the enter the chetroom. Keep up the work.♥️

Scrapman, beware of keeping any switches out in the open. In my base, I had a switch outside to open my gate. I though it was safe because it was so high up, but a god dam tape bot shot at it, opening my gate, letting in a bunch of bots. SO BE CAREFUL KEEPING SWITCHES WHERE TAPE BOTS COULD SHOOT, BECAUSE THEY CAN TURN THEM ON BY SHOOTING THEM!!!

SELF ORGANISING INVENTORY SYSTEM: So how you can organise your inventory is as follows. Connect a chest to the craftbot output. Put one of different blocks in every slot. So the chest is full of different stacks of blocks with only one item in the stack. If the craft bot crafts an item, it will send it to the output, and then place it in the first available slot. If all slots in the connected chests are full of 1 stack items, the item will be added to its respective stack. So for example. Connect 4 chests. Put one piece of metal in every slot in the first chest, one piece of wood in every slot of the second chest and one piece of oil in every slot of the third chest, and leave the fourth chest empty. If you craft oil, it will not be able to go to the first, or second, but in the third chest there will be an oil stack with space. If you craft another item, it won't be able to go in the metal, wood or oil chest and thus fill the first open slot in the fourth chest. So you can effectively make chests for every item, or have entire chests for single items and shared chests for others. The important thing to note is, when removing items from a chest to always leave one behind in the slot, to keep all chest slots full and unavailable for all other items. As noted by @Thomas Garrison, the total size of the system can be reduced by only filling single rows. In this way the system will require less chests. This will of course be dependent on the item stack size.

My idea: do separate little workshops in your workshop. Your base and workshop looks like a castle from outside, because of that you can do a blacksmith workshop. You can do your metal refining and building in there. And you build explosives and concrete which requires chemicals, gasoline and more, you can build some type of laboratory for it. For wood you can do a carpentry workshop. You can add more little workshops for different purposes. This seems not practical as your loop but you can make a loop with vacuum pipes. And your materials will be more organized since you put them where they belong to.

Here is an idea that should work: Hire a... *volunteer*... to feel the spud containers for you. It is tricky to do, but you should be able to do this. At a cost for nerves, since you don't know if you can trust the volunteer.

An explanation for the frame issues might be when u spawn in your base is already cached so it doesn't need to process and update the chuck but when u go out it needs to unload the chuck so when you load it all your vehicles lags it because of the complexity

Scrap man. What u could do as a trap is. Place some field plots out there and surround them with tier 2 metal so that the hay bots and greenies don't touch them. But when the boss bots show up. They might get attracted to those plots out there first instead of your base. And u could have some bombs in there for when the bosses attack the plots

(I can't test the weigth of the bots BC I don't have SM) Try testing wether the haybots are heavier than the boss and if the boss is heavier, you can try making a pressure based mine that uses suspensions as the pressure system(adjust the stiffness based on the weight) and you can specify the target even more

Make the floor wider to reduce the chance of boss exploding the spudgun,sensor,ramps or suspensions. That might help reduce the cost of rearming it once used on either boss or haybots. But still I can't argue about that tnt cost tho.....he might just use this idea just for fun, bosses only or not even reading this comment.

For the workshop, I think one side could be a "forging" area, with a forge, anvil, power hammer, quenching tank, tool racks hydrolic press and things like that. For the other side, I would have the "precision work" area, with a working bench, microscope, more tool racks, lathe, belt grinders, band saws etc. Excited to see what you come up with! 😁

Scarpman move the bounce traps to the front and lower the spud cannons. This will make sure the base does not blow up if a boss explodes near you. Also try to make a explosive cannon at on top of the towers and a water cannon to disable the bot with less lag.

Make a lift for vehicles in the workshop wich could raise your vehicle up, and you could customize or fix it and stuff like that having all materials and parts by hand. If you make a small auto potato farm with the vacuum pumps connected to a chest full of single stacks of potato seeds and then connect that to your 2 ammo containers, all the spuds will go to your containers and the seeds will stack in the chest until its full. Ps you can use a mounted spud gun to plant crops a lot quicker.

Suggestion for the workshop. You should make a tool rack and/or a sun roof and you should put the craft bots in a room with a small window that shows their screen so they are still accessable and then make a sliding door to acces the chests

Hi Scrapman, maybe you should make different workshop stations that will be connected with vacuum pipes. I imagine the center having the storage system and the sides having a refining station and the crafting station. The stations will be connected with vacuum pipes so it will look cool and connect the stations together to allow the storage to connect to the crafting station and the refinery station.

Cool Video. Yeah my base has developed a "lag wall" around it, about 10 fps. It's workable once I'm inside but frustrating to not be able to enjoy the surrounding area much at all. I really want more content, but they gotta get this optimized. Making lots of design compromises to avoid fps drop is stifling.

Maybe if you make a blacksmith, you can have like a armoury area and inside you can have some athletics then you can have spuds in one Chest (or more) and a chest for explosives. Also you can make an engineering area, what I mean by that is in that area you can have component kits, pistons, censors , and more. I think you should make a lift where the grate in the floor is, so you can lift your vehicles into the work shop and be able to "service" them within the enclosed space. So some kind of vehicle lift down below, and a sliding mechanism for the grated floor to move out of the way as the vehicle comes up.

The third boss blew up in the water, as you probably saw in editing. Also, the wheels probably broke when the boss walked over it and got flung back, as simply walking on carpet destroys it (as found out in Durf’s scrap busters bringing a boss through the wharehouse)

In your workshop you could have a wood-workshop area, with logs on the wall behind it and put a refiner in it and put some spare saws on the wall. With pipe pieces, metal, wedges and paint you could make axes and other tools hung up on the wall.

Spud Idea: Attach a large chest to the spud container? It might work though it is untested. Base Idea: Change the front wall to tier 3 concrete. That way if a boss does reach the wall and explodes it minimizes damage.

This might be a cool idea - create a tiny car that follows a painted path in front of your base and on that car place a scanning spud gun on a bearing. It would be like your own tape bot defending your base. Call him Mr. Tapey.

You could change the bounce trap to be sensor-based as well, activating (for a few seconds) only when the bots get right in front of the wall.

You can build 2-nd floor strictly for refining and making blocks, parts. For example you could make right next to door left and right side incoming chests to dump scrap wood and scrap stone , then there are 4 or more chests after bot for storage, and then pipe goes to each side at back and goes in other bot that takes that blocks and makes items. Minimum it would take 4 bots, 2 for scrap blocks and 2 for item making. but you would need to flip 2 bots so made items are in middle. So you could simply go in room, dump blocks and make parts that you need. 1 chest would be good after item crafting bot, because you would still need more than 10 chests at back wall for long term item storage. I push f and put items on storage chests so i know what is where.

If you use 3 craft bots with the large storage chests on the right, you can retrieve from the first storage closest to the craft bots. Also, that right most craft bot will pull from your personal inventory

A bar for the cookbot would be cool, and maybe a clothing store kinda thing for the clothes bot? Otherwise, I reckon lots of pipes are cool, so whenever you make something, things come down the pipes. IDK i just think it looks cool haha
