hope I can give u a short and simple answer. 1.our IAF has 31 fighter jet squadrons but we need 42. 2. 10 squadrons will get retired by 2030. 3. Hence modiji made a deal of 36 ready to fly Rafael jets at 630 credit. per plane . Then why not to HAL? ITS because dassault said if HAL would assemble the planes then dassault would not take any responsibility. so, it was given to Reliance defence(only for assembly) Now how did the price rose so Much to 1600 cr.? it's not the basic price......its cost of missiles( meteor,jammers,BVRAAM ETC.) ALSO ONE IS NOT ENOUGH RIGHT? MAY BE THEY ARE BUYING 20 OR 30 RELOADS....NO ONE KNOWS AND SHOULD BE TOO. BUT THAT DOES NOT SEEMS OK RIGHT? not only missiles but also service centre set up in INDIA FOR INSTANTANIOUS REPAIRING OF THE AIRCRAFTS. HOPE U GOT UR ANS.
