I agree with some of your comment but there some times I would just want to bypass and go on to the good. But I guess you can't really just do only the good times. Wow this song makes me remember my Junior year of High School and how after Christmas break the group I hung out in everyone changed and it seemed as it dicentgrated before my eyes and we were no longer talking or hanging out all throughout lunch like before. When we were done eating everyone split or went with someone else and the rest didn't talk. Sad to this happen, but as the song says Seasons Change and People Change. Saw happen before my eyes.

Music from the good ole days back then. It's hard to describe the feeling I get every time I listen to this song. It feels like a missing feeling....of people that are'nt here anymore, that have passed away or moved elsewhere and lost contact with them, girlfriends of back then that I miss so much, different things in general of back in those days that are gone now. All that remains are nothing but sweet memories of all sorts that I have in my mind still. Hearing these songs is instant memory lane....wow, what a rush. I'm blessed as well as so many others that lived and experienced the 80's. Awsome times they were growing up, parties friends, cruising you name it...bad ass to the max. Agree 1000%. In a way I almost hate to hear the songs again, it gives me such a longing for those times 🙁Not just youth but it was just such a different time, the feelings that come when hearing the music of the 80s. It really takes me there. I can specifically remember occasions when certain songs came on the radio, exactly where I was, what I was doing at the time & even the very first time I heard them. AND if it was a SUMMER song, then I feel it even more.

@karlhungus55544 жыл бұрын
Your kids are growing up in a different time than we did, Dee. As such, the things that make them happy may not necessarily be the same things that made us happy. They'll figure it out on their own, just like we did. Have you ever read the following from poet Kahlil Gibran? If not, maybe you will enjoy it. On Children Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. Kahlil Gibran The Prophet, 1923

I remember this song! I worked at a "Dunkin Doughnuts" back when the doughnuts, muffins, and fritters were made fresh in the kitchen. Anyway, it was the winter of 1987 and I worked with this cool older black guy named Herman. I'm sure he passed away decades ago because he was in his 60s and a very heavy smoker and had a horrible cough, even back then! R.I.P. We made doughnuts for all the "White Castles" in Columbus, Ohio. We used to listen to this song on our delivery route, at least 5 times in a row, it was in heavy rotation on all the light FM stations! We drove a white 1985 extended Ford Econoline van! LOL!! I swear that van was so cold and freezing!!! Because the heat barely worked!! 😞 Shout Out to Sunny 95!! (One of the popular local light FM stations back then). Then they'd play "She's Like The Wind" by the late Patrick Swayze (R.I.P.) and then they'd play "West End Girls," by "The Pet Shop Boys." But this song is the one that has been stuck in my head for 35 years!! Wow, where did all the years go?! I wasn't making money like I am today!! But this song for some reason brings back exactly what I was doing back then and where I was!! I was 18 back then, and now I'm 54!! Seasons definitely change! WOW!!

Developments in media, technology, and globalization have resulted in a very very fast pace of life in 2023. Many people feel the way you do and because you have the blessing of a long life, you have so much perspective on the way things used to be in your memory. Most people, as they look back on the past, report favorable aggregate memories of their youth, while some others tend to remember only the bad things. But, I hope you know that we're living in a turbulent, but fascinating, period of history. And there's good reason to be optimistic about the future, even though it's hard to imagine right now. Cheers!

@theonlyonestanding8079 You are so much like me, that it's scary. You're on the right track. We can choose to be angry and we can choose to be sad. We can choose to seek revenge or We can choose to forgive and love. I would encourage you not to fret about days gone by, because we cannot change those days. We should not be afraid about tomorrow, because it may not get here for us. I would recommend that you concern yourself only with today, this moment. Let's try to make our moments the best they can be.

Everyone thinks the decade they grew up in was the best. The thing that makes the 80's so special, is that all things converge at the same time to its highest point...Music, TV, Movies, Fashion, Technology, (obviously not the highest point) but things really turned tech wise in the 80's as well, video games, pagers, cell phones etc. What a time to be ALIVE!

44 year old man and this is one of my most favorite songs of the 80's. The 80's have long since been my favorite era of music. I don't remember my childhood in it's entirety, but I remember the music and the music reminds me of how I felt. I don't remember most of daily life, but I remember that I missed my dad all the time and being with him was the only time I felt secure. I remember that I was imaginative and usually depressed and didn't connect with people, and the music helped me cope because it was all I had. Ironically, as an adult, I sometimes can't listen to music at all because the emotion it elicits is almost bewildering and I have unhealthy thoughts. Anyway, I digress. I love this song. Gets the wheels turnin in my head though.

As someone who grew up in the 80's, I'd say it was one of the worst overall decades of music in the last 70 years. Don't get me wrong, some of my favorite songs came from the 80's, but compared to the likes of the 60's, 70''s, and 90's, the 80's doesn't stand a chance.

Miguel Ochoa I appreciate those kind words; if anyone cares I want to create some context for my initial post. I'm no weeping willow; before I stumbled on this song I hadn't cried in years. I insisted on uncovering the purpose behind those tears. Deep soul searching & a 5th of Casa Vieja tequila finally revealed the answer. I was about 9 or so when I moved from SoCal back to DC; leaving behind all my friends and those warm beautiful Southern Cali sunsets. No tears at the time though; I was just pissed me and my buddy wouldn't be playing with GoBots together anymore. I had no clue I harbored these profound feelings tucked beneath this masculine exterior. Point being. If you're blessed to allow yourself to embrace the mysteries this life possess, you may discover those emotions are only the beginning of your journey. I don't know when Lewis Martinee' wrote and Expose' performed this song what effect it would have on this crusty old dude, but forever am I in their debt. This song cut me deep. It provided the soundtrack that coincided with a lost childhood memory I suppressed all these years, and at the time I was ill-equipped to process those emotions. "Seasons Change, Feelings Change" and forever has this song changed me.

Carla Gugino has a quote in the movie “Watchmen”. Quote “I’m 67 years old, everyday the future looks a bit darker, but the past, even the grimy parts of it keep on getting better”. An exceptional line for the most part, however; call me a futurist but I think those of us who knew this era, kind of figured it was really lovely, at that moment. For me this song perfectly encapsulates a farewell to a time it seems many of us were reluctant to let go of, cause we could appreciate the value that living throughout this decade possessed. Never again will the 80s be, but your words, comments and affinity for this time, is contentious and gives me tremendous hope; having lived to witness arguably one of the greatest times in modern history.

When I play it, it rushes back and I see the road from then to now, wondering where and why things went as they did. To be this open, this vulnerable, this in love again. Damn. I'm closer to death than to this time of my life. I've wasted it all. What a shame.

+Mark Flanigan -- Indeed. It amazes me how people today can't hear how 'off' someone is, even with autotune. The computers are working overtime to swing someone back toward the proper note, and still can't keep up. Because the Producers hire pretty faces that sing in a key unknown to mankind. Even worse though is when someone who can actually sing lazily allows the Producers to autotune them anyway for the sake of _'effect'_.

This song is BEAUTIFUL! How the 80s was and is MAGICAL ✨ How many people had the same situations, vacation or holiday in 80s as video and never saw your friends since that time. 80s make me cry and happy in the same time. I was a child in 80s, was born in 1985, remind few things about that, didn't spend my time enjoying that time, but I miss what I didn't live. Something change, really people and situations changes. Maybe this song will be my weekend song 🏠🍃

When I heard this in 1980's I knew it somehow conveyed a most important message for me. I learned life was about love, loss, and change and how we deal with it. Seasons change but what always remains with us until the end of our life, is our dreams.

Such beautiful lyrics - and refreshingly without the overworked/overwrought unnecessary vocal gymnastics we have today. Just simple and beautiful.
