When my teenage daughter was a toddler, I would wake up every hour or so listening for her breathing. Her crib was next to our bed, and I was so afraid that she would somehow turn her head facing down into the mattress or against her pillow and suffocate or something. Those years has turned me into a very light sleeper. Even today 16 years after, I wake up from the smallest of sounds, so I need to use ear plugs to get a good night's sleep. Thats how much my worries for her have impacted me. And we are to accept that these two just left their infant girl and two toddlers by themselves and went out for dinner with their friends without a care in the world! I wonder how they explained all of this away to their two twins. They are old enough today to put two and two together.

The first thing that set alarm bells off in me was that Kate McCann finding Maddie missing left her other two children in the apartment, and ran all the way back to the bar and screamed "they've taken her"??? This is a massive red flag for me. Any other mother in that situation would grab her other two kids, and scream from the balcony of the apartment to alert everyone immediately. That is a natural reaction, protect your kids and alert to danger. So for me, that was my start of not believing them or their friends.

I never understood why Maddie parents wasn't charged for neglect at least... money talks they should be ashamed leaving children alone I never took my eyes off my children more so on holiday..I'm my opinion it's the kids holiday more than mine and to make money off it is a disgrace no other children got this .. godbless poor Maddie I think about her a lot my daughter was the same age 🙏

Kate wearing makeup etc is very odd. In my life I have suffered traumatic situations one being when a boyfriend committed suicide, the coming days after that I lost all sense of me, there was no putting on makeup, no finesse. So to suffer a worse trauma how could she function?

Jon seems such a lovely person. Always enjoy listening to his talks even though they are very difficult and tough subjects to hear, it’s important that these things are brought into the open. xx

I agree I don’t have children but I know 110 % I’d not leave a young child alone. This man has convinced me that the parents are guilty in some way. I’ve seen the area and there’s no way they were near those children.

Any mother would be in pieces! No makeup, no hair tidied, eyes would be swollen and Red. You would be in pieces! Distraught! I never ever saw her look like a mother whose child had gone missing. Overdosed her accidentally just so they could be with friends dining out.

The movie 'Prisoners' starring Hugh Jackman summed up how a woman would react to her daughter gone missing, absolutely distraught, bed ridden!

You have to remember that prior to this,a little girl called sarah payne had been taken, raped and killed by roy whiting. The mum, also called sarah, just dropped everything to make a news appeal. Because she was dishevelled, not well dressed, no make up, she was pilloried in the press. Ditto her husband, who had mental struggles. That is why women of missing children are immaculately turned out on tv these days.

This is an outstandingly good podcast. Fantastic guest, very well said, from top to bottom. EDIT: Many comments are saying thank you for allowing him to flow unhindered, and get all of his knowledge out. I second this 👏. Excellent format.

Awesome guest. About Maddie's case he mentioned Peter Hiatt who is a brilliant statement analist. If you visit his channel to hear him breaking down Kate and Jerry's statements and how he can detect deception, don't forget to wish him well. Peter is battling cancer and was recently hospitalized. It's always nice to read a few nice words and show some support. He has analysed a lot more highly mediatised cases beside Madeline's and you will learn a lot. Thoroughly enjoyable episode, thank you.

Everyone needs to check out Richard D Hall series of films on this case. Outstanding journalism and information which is so overlooked regarding contradictory statements and the smith sighting etc. Jon said the same about Richard's work. Phenomenal

it can also work the opposite way when you are abused as a child you can become over protective with your children I never trusted any man or woman with my children.even seeing a child sat on a mans knee,even if innocent I can stop watching them,my brain is allways thinking and I'm nearly 70 now so in this its ruined my life,i have no trust
@mystifiedmargot19702 ай бұрын
Yes, you're quite right. If you've been abused you're more likely to be very protective as you'll know what can happen to children. We know what can occur when we let our guard down Sandra. Sending you love and kindness ❤
