Most of the discussion of Gaza (95%+?) is about Israel's actions. I've yet to hear anyone speak about calling for the unconditional surrender of Hamas and the release of the hostages. It's quite simple, really. If they were to surrender and release the hostages, Israel would cease its bombing. No more babies killed. Why is there so little discussion about Hamas and their responsibility for the mess?
@Sneakyhorse125 ай бұрын
The rest of the world hates the Palestinians and want them subdued , even the other Muslims countries, they want to live like civilised humans , how could you ever feel safe with that problem in your area, They are mouthing their support for Palestine while providing weapons to Israel to make themselves seem a little nicer.

Hamas said they will release all hostages if Israel releases their hostages. We never hear about Israel's hostages only Hamas hostages. Surrender in this case is tantamont to suicide. Israel said they will kill every Hamas fighter. The goal is to annihilate them. IDF killed escaped Jewish hostages who tried to surrender. Hamas fighters know they will be executed or jailed and tortured for life if they surrender. Would you under those circunstances?
@ams9145 ай бұрын
@@chuletaization You've similarly done EXACTLY what the OP described by pivoting away from Hamas, towards Israel. Let me clear things up for you. Before October 7th, the only prisoners Israel held, were all terrorists/enemy combatants. The hostages Hamas took were all civilians. Any civilian Israel took "hostage" (they are not hostages, but prisoners, which is a distinct difference) were affiliated with terrorists in one way or another. You can also be assured that the way Israel treats them is leagues better than how Hamas treats theirs. I am also pretty sure that some amount of them were rescued by Israel because they have no family and were defacto orphans, but I can't confirm that. What I do know is that when you investigate, what you will find is that Israel has good reasons to do nearly everything it does. Israel is also the kind of nation that will release a hundred terrorists for the release of merely one of their civilians. There is no moral equivalence between the two sides, and the way that people have spectacularly face planted in moral terms, on this issue, makes me lose all faith for humanity. The OPs point absolutely stands. People like you have totally absolved Hamas in this war, while placing all the responsibility on Israel. Good thing Israel isn't going to do what you want. They'll do what is in the interest of protecting their own people.
@algernonsidney87465 ай бұрын
Hamas has offered to release all the hostages in exchange for a ceasefire and the Israeli government refused. Furthermore Hamas' horrific crimes on October 7 and it's refusal to unconditionally release the hostages does not morally justify's Israel's murdering of civilians.

I heard Glaser say "i refute their Jewishness... being hijacked by an occupation [of Gaza by the Israeli military] that has lead to conflict for so many innocent people." Glaser didn't say he was rejecting his Jewish identity as Gad claimed; he said he didn't want his Jewishness, and the holocaust, being hijacked by a military occupation of Gaza. I'm not sure what exactly that means. Sounded rather vague to me. But the gist of it seemed to be that he was indeed Jewish, and that the Jewishness of a nation and the history of Jews having suffered through the holocaust, wasn't sufficient reason for a Jewish nation to occupy another nation, Gaza. Cannot Gad and Piers understand English. Refuting the use of one's ethnicity as a rationale for doing something, is not the same as rejecting one's ethnicity.

He was sacked in 2004 for the publication of supposedly fake photos. Back then The Mirror and Piers sat on those photos for 3 months while they were investigating the stories of abuse of civilian detainees. The photos were even shown to the Ministry of Defence for confirmation. The Ministry did not believe they were fake at all. So they were published. After some time there were allegations that the photos were faked and The Daily Mirror had been hoaxed. An apology from the paper was issued but not from Piers who was fired. Here’s what else happened. There was a Royal Investigation into the issue of British and other soldiers abusing civilian Iraqi detainees. Several were court-martialled and found guilty. It was happening. As for the original photos that were meant to be fake, no one has ever proven this claim. No one has ever been charged either. In 2004 it would’ve been more difficult to prove or disprove but I’m sure they’d be able to tell using today’s technology. I thought I’d put the facts in because they shed a different light than a couple of sentences. I don’t blame Piers for not apologising. He had the photos confirmed by the Ministry of Defence and still to this day no one can authenticate a fake. 😀

We have to be careful that we do not create a police state of absolutism where apology is not enough and redemption is made impossible. Depending on the action or crime of course. My question is 1. How does the IDF identify who is in hamas? They don't have military uniforms and they are said to be hidden amongst the civilian population. So how do you identify them? 2. Does this mean that every young man who is above a certain age could be/Must be a part if Hamas? 3. Then, is their military strategy then to "remove" every single male older than a certain age, for they may cause a threat? Is it that they may potentially, possibly, one day, threaten the safety of Israelis? Remove every boy and man then they'll be done? Sounds an awful like Pharoah to me but for those who disagree with my characterization, can anyone explain how it's any different.? These are the questions I would ask
@10sodot6 ай бұрын
We keep hearing about the Palestinian causalities in the thousands. These numbers haven't been verified only asserted by Hamas. Also the term "children" is often used to invoke sympathy. A person of 12 - 17 yrs for example who trained to fire guns or RPG is actually a combatant. The moment you display hostile intent/acts you sadly make yourself a valid military target according to rules of war.

Em, they are pointing a gun?
@Bigbanks5896 ай бұрын
I'm former IDF special forces and in training as well as just about every well trained army drills into you high intensity shooting scenarios until you are perfect at identifying enemies. Have you ever wondered why women and children aren't evacuated by Palestinians like how most nations do on the eve of an attack? I operated in Gaza for the most part in my time and the failure the west has in grasping the situation is that Palestinians for the most part are not like you, don't think like you, or even other Muslim countries. The West closes their ears when the head of hamas (who basically raised the current adult fighting generation) articulates the ideology of their culture... he said the jews believe in life while they believe in death, and that's why they will win. It's not as if you could claim it's a small %% of the population bc the indoctrinated makeup about 80% Maybe 10% don't have a hatred of jews.... not zionist, not israeli but jews. Go back before 2003, and you'll see when the tactics of combat changed. Hamas learned the PR game and prey upon Western values and moral outrage. Before that airline hijacking and bombs, suicide bombers in tourist areas and having children sneak attack soldiers was their playbook, which looked awful in the publics mind. Now they laugh as they confuse the uninitiated by using the oppressor v oppressed mentality that has captured mainstream thought to achieve PR wins. In 2012 gaza War, they learned from many many PR mistakes, especially when it came to leaked videos and casualty numbers. They put out these videos on the internet at the time showing rows amd rows of the dead and AL Jazeera played it 24/7 but almost immediately a leak occurred and the real footage of the director yelling CUT and they all arose comically. A supposed sniper victim suffering came out, which bc of the lack of education on the journalistic ability it was laughed at as dumb amateur propaganda. They haven't improved much and resort to showing dead children being paraded around to tug your heartstrings or wailing women who've been filmed in combat before acting like babushkas. Ever wonder what kind of person would parade over their heads and shake roughly a green tinged toddler that has obviously been long deceased? I bet you'd be holding your child with the utmost of care of you had to hold them bc of the love, care, and respect Could you ever hold your children or family before you taunted your enemy bc in their heads, that's a win win situations. They vastly overextended the imagination of death numbers by claiming thousands of dead a day. The problem was that afterwards, no one could point to where the "bodies" ended up. It turned out that only a few hundred died, and I'm willing to bet 60% of their numbers are inflated. They also included 17-year-old males who were fighting as children. It's awful, but a 14-year-old with an RPG can do the same damage as a 27-year-old. As far as civilians go as to the claim of innocence... well, maybe look into the evidence of how many participated in the attack and then theft of corpes and homes occurred. I could show you my picturea and videos of how before 2005 during the Real occupation by Israeli forces how gaza thrived and was growing prosperous and how most westerners couldnt understand how when we forcefully moved our own pll out the Civilians elected a known active terrorist organization to rule them. Peace, money, and property rights are western value aren't what they want. As for your question on how they know and will they kill all 14+yr Olds... not really. Special forces do the bulk of the heavy on ground actions, and they are highly skilled and selective. Also, the Intell from Aman and Shin Bet are excellent.
@Croaker-b4n5 ай бұрын
It's damn hard to identify who is in Hamas when they hide behind women and children or pretend to be non-combatants. Yeah , every one of em could be a Hamas member. It ain't right to peg everybody as one, but well they don't do much to combat it. Would you expect the Israelis to drop their arms and walk into gunfire with a smile on their face just to keep things politically correct?

Amnesia of causality… correct Palestinians had their lands taken off them by the British to form a state for Jews!! Why would there not be a response from a people who still feel aggrieved.
@lvince49105 ай бұрын
The British took over the region from the Ottomans, who took over the region from previous Caliphs, who took over the region from the Romans, who took over the land from the Hebrews, who took over the land from the Canaanites. The British then partitioned the land to give a homeland for the Jewish people and a homeland for the Arabs living in the region. Following the declaration of the State of Israel all of the surrounding Arab nations went to war against the Jewish state and were defeated. The Palestinian lands were controlled by the surrounding Arab nations until they were defeated by Israel in subsequent wars. Israel has been defending it's existence ever since and has conquered land from the surrounding Arab nations during numerous wars. Israel returned the Sinai to Egypt as part of a peace agreement. The Israelis withdrew from Gaza decades ago. The only land occupied by Israelis are buffer zones of strategic importance because they are surrounded by hostile neighbors. Land that they conquered in wars defending their existence. The only time the Arabs in the region were given the opportunity to have control of a land called Palestine was when Britain partitioned the region and proposed a 2 state solution. The Arabs rejected this proposal and so there continues to be no such thing as an independent country called Palestine which has never existed in all of recorded human history. The Palestinians never had land for the British to take from them in the first place. Prior to the British Mandate the land was under Ottoman control, who were centralized in Turkey, a country created by the imperial Turks who originate from the steppes of Eurasia, they are not Arabic people.

I hate it when someone quoted a work by a single person as gospel truth ie. no rape of Palestine women by Israel soldiers. As for 99% poll of Palestine hating Israel, I believe that is true. If I am living in Gaza, I would also hate Jews in Israel. The only way to solve this hate issue is to help build Gaza, let them have a thriving community and to stop the apartheid. You can slowly change the perception of people in Gaza towards Jews by helping them and let time heal their hatred.

Lots of people refer to genocide by Israelis in Gaza, but neither define genocide nor specifically apply it for urban terror warfare such as we fought in Mosul, Rakka, anad Faluj. Piers keeps repeating the same refrain about tens fo thousands of new civilian casualties. Hamas is making up much of these numbers and there is no way they can accurately support them since they are not operative in Gaza and they do not count militant deaths and casualties separately from civilians.I wish he would interview John Spencer, who heads Urban Warfare Institute at West Point who has testified that Israel has done more to avoid civilian casualties than we or any other army has done in similar circumstances. The IDF has focused their battles in a much more pinpoint way because they have gained intelligence, innovated methods of tunnel warfare, and have reduced considerably civilian casualties. The Shifa hospital incursion this week is a good example. But the refrain goes on. Perhaps there can be a Congressional hearing with military experts who can open the inquiry into whether the Israelis and Hamas have committed war crimes and genocide. Maybe we can get more information that is accurate based on the reality on the ground. Transparency on both sides would be good for the US and the West to come to some clear conclusions. Hamas does not deserve a pass nor does UNWRA for supporting terror.
