As a car enthusiast - It makes me sad how Lamborghini went from being the middle finger to Enzo & 60 years later it’s the choice of every 25 year old ‘hustle & grind’ bro / streamer that doesn’t realize they paid 2X the price for an rebadged RSQ8/R8

I actually had the exact opposite experience at McLaren in Dubai. Went there to check out what they had. The salesman Mr. Rushdie, a very polite Jordanian fella, guided me through every car they had for sale. I asked what it takes to book a test drive and he had a 750s spider ready for me in 10 minutes. Best 30 minutes of my entire life thus far. I'm only 24 so time will tell if I beat this. He even invited me to have a look in the back room where they kept all the limited editions like the Senna, P1, Speedtail etc.

I think it varies more from dealer to dealer not so much brand to brand. I went to Porsche Austin in 2020 (they were only Porsche dealer in town) and 10 minutes + on 3 different occasions nobody gave me the time of day. I then said screw them and went to Porsche North Houston and they were SUPER nice and accommodating. I bought Taycan from them. As far as Lamborghini I went in Lamborghini Austin interested in a Urus for my wife and salesman was super nice , came out immediately introduced himself. Not super pushy just nice. We bought a 2020 (new). As far as Revuelto there really is no inventory for a couple years. Lamborghini Austin just got a purple one “back” that someone built but then did not buy. Only problem is since they are SO hard to get they are asking about $100k over msrp. No thank you. I am waiting my turn which is about 2-2.5 years but will pay msrp since I will build and order. If you want it now you have to pay because they do not produce a ton of each model. That’s just from my experiences. Again really varies from dealer to dealer not so much brand to brand. It also varies from salesperson to sales person as well as location (what state your in) I would assume.

RR guy did it best. Drop the price upfront and once your clients see something they like, they will internally justify the price themselves. Lambo guy sending the "Not interested" text wasn't necessarily rude. He's just prodding you for a response. Same in corporate when you send a "Have you given up?" to other project managers or your partners/third-party vendors. This is Chris Voss level psychology.

Brilliant breakdown of luxury car sales tactics! The way you’ve highlighted strategies like 'red velvet rope pricing' and the 'rude sales clerk' technique truly showcases how these brands masterfully play with psychology to craft exclusivity and desire. I found the point about storytelling particularly fascinating-it's amazing how brands like Rolls-Royce and McLaren weave heritage and innovation into their narratives to connect emotionally with buyers. Do you think the growing trend of eco-consciousness might push these luxury brands to innovate further, perhaps by redefining scarcity or exclusivity with sustainable designs? As someone who works closely with premium lifestyle brands, I’ve seen firsthand how aligning with modern values can elevate perceived value even further. Looking forward to seeing more of your insights-this type of deep dive is invaluable! #LuxuryMarketing #PsychologyOfSales #TimelessExclusivity"

I think it's definitely not always the brand; it's more the dealer. The right thing would be to test like 10 McLaren dealers, 10 Porsches, etc. And people don't want only exotic cars because they are getting brainwashed; it's also because they're really nice cars. But one thing I really hate as a customer is when they treat you like you don't have the money (or what it takes to have), and then they see you have it, their eyes start shining, and they give you all the attention. Yeah, I know there are a lot of customers wasting time and so on, but that's just so embarrassing.

Luxury is losing its meaning and some buyers are damaging brand equity so my best guess is that a new era of luxury will come where very reduced volumes and higher prices will come. Personalisation will drive this new era. Look what the British modifier Kahn with some SUVs like Defender, Grenadier, G Klasse. That is going to be the new definition of luxury.

Nowadays the markup is outrageous. Buy a classic and restore it. New cars are for fools.

So, as a video about sales tactics, this is OK. As a video about car business, this is as pathetic as it gets real car guys, that really value these automobiles and buy them for fun I’m not going to spend any time talking to a salesman about features and options. I am one of them, and I know more about features and options on these cars 99% of time. Porsche, for once, will not sell you the really covered it and sought after cars until you have some sort of a status buildup. The best for sure you can possibly buy would be a highly customized CXX GT car in PTS color. Those are the ones that are going to not only hold their value, but as long as you buy the right spec and the right model will continue appreciating. Just look at the results of the white collection sale back in December 2023 .With McLaren, in order to make it special, you do have to spend the money. My 750 S for example has a sticker of $652,000. And I was very happy to buy that car for that kind of price because there’s only two of them in my spec in the United States. Bentley for the most part is a bit of a waste due to depreciation and only makes sense if you’re buying or leasing the car for a business.
