I’m a LUSH employee and the sample policy is unlimited, but we do get frustrated when people come in straight away and ask for a bunch of samples!! Pls don’t do it!! Just try it out in store and if you like it, ask for a sample!

rania metwally yaaaa lol that’s kind of our job to deter people from sampling and to buy the product. So if you ask for a sample, we’re supposed to offer an in-store demo and then if you do not want to purchase that’s when we sample:)

M M I work at LUSH and at our store we don’t do facials. We apply demos to the back of our customers’ hands

When I worked at lush we couldn't do facials on the face, only back of hand. Then at a different location we applied to face.

Something else to note on this thread they do the "facials" as a demo, they do expect you to buy something at the end otherwise why do you want to test the product? don't take advantage of companies.

Now with Covid, they don't do facials anymore, but you can still test out products yourself! They have popsicle sticks every where so you don't have to put your fingers in the products!

In Lush Uk, sales assistants aren’t trained in facials and can’t give them out on the shop floor but if you do want a proper facial massage by a trained therapist some Lush stores eg Liverpool, Oxford street have Spas in them x

I was about to comment the same thing. I've been working for Lush for over 3 years now and I only recently learned how to give someone a facial. Most other people of my team don't know how to do it because they actually never taught us how to.

As someone coming from cosmetic retail sales..... there’s definitely no limit on samples. Our managers want us to sample like crazy. Try more, buy more. She just didn’t wanna make you a lot😩

carly dernetz Sometimes we have to be cautious though with the amount of samples we give a person because we don’t want to overload the skin with different products because it can result in breakouts or not knowing which sample helped them :•) however I do enjoy giving people samples especially if they are nice!!

I can see how that can be a issue of having your skin react but just letting the customer know to be careful is fine ... I had been given 8 samples of different lush products with no problem and went back to buy them all 😄

carly dernetz Every store is going to be a little different, but it comes from a place of wanting to be cautious of the customers skin. At the store I work at we’ve never been told not to make samples for customers, but to keep in mind overwhelming the skin can cause side effects.

Krystal's Couture I was a hairdresser and use to wash hair all day none stop and our hands would go dry and red it’s called dermatitis from stripping the skin of jts natural oils and we had to use a thick oil based hand cream ❤️

I used to work in a place where I had to wash my hands about 30 or more times a day, what ends up happening is you develop irritant/contact dermatitis from the frequent washing or having constant wet hands. It’s also known as wet work dermatitis, mine was very painful and I developed these small blisters, it got so bad to the point where I had to quit. Took me about 3 months to fully heal them too and I even developed some scarring. 😔

In terms of samples, technically you can get more than three. Most stores sort of have their own policy though. 3 is sort of the standard at most stores like how the lady said, we don’t wanna overwhelm your skin. Also because people tend to really abuse the sample policy. Usually I don’t like these Lush hack videos. However, I appreciate how you specified not to abuse these policies. And I appreciate how you have some love to these hard working employees 😂

As a former Lush employee, the sampling policy does tend to vary from store to store. How I see it, abusing the sampling policy is asking for multiple samples of the same section. I can see where sampling two separate conditioners to see which one will work best with your current products makes sense... but asking for multiple samples of masks that have so many different effects? That is abusing the policy in my eyes.

Omg the bath bomb hack is one I hear all the time! Please don't do that! You can put it in a little ziplock bag and smash it to use the smaller pieces if you réally want to use it multiple times, but putting them in the bath and then taking them out again won't make them fizz nicely the next time you use it. It also takes away the preservatives in the bath bomb (since there's no water used to make them) so it can become a breeding place for bacteria (depending on how long you'll store it before using it again). Also, most of them have a different colour in the middle so won't have the beautiful effect in the bath if you just take them out halfway...

When they're out of Fresh face masks you can get Mask of Magnaminty or Cup o Coffee mask. Cut your bath bombs In half or quarters. Don't bother with trying to catch the bath bomb before it melts or having to dry off the bath bomb.

hi im wondering if you can answer some questions for me. Im a soap maker and have difficulty with the scents fading. I ue the highest recommended usage rate and still have an issue. I have 2 question 1. does lush use a particular chemical / produst to enhance the scent. I dont know how lush get away with their soaps being so strong. Even here in Australia their soaps are so strong which i absolutely love but and im trying to replicate avstrong smelling soap. 2. It seems that lush use melt and pour base and then add their fragrance and additives. As ive watched their videos where they use the soap pellets and remelt them. But how does their soap not sweat which is notorious for sweating. hope you can help. cheers tanya

I could never do these videos. I am way too anxious. Though... I did once find a foundation that I hadn't opened, and when I went to open the carton... The wrong freakin shade was in it! I called Ulta, where I had bought it... who knows how long ago, before I went to see if I could return it for store credit. They said sure... When I went in... I didn't realize just how long ago I did purchase it (it was never opened). The packaging style had changed since then so I only got like $4 in credit. The lady asked if I still wanted the credit or just wanted to keep the foundation... Of course I took the credit... What am I going to do with the wrong shade? In the end I felt so embarrassed, but took my credit and got the right shade this time... Moral of this story... Check your boxes to make sure you get the right stuff! 🤣
