I’m fish Illinois and Missouri and use Berkley Power Grubs 2 or 3 inch. The best were the Pumpkin seed/chartreuse but they stop making them. They also stop making the chartreuse tournament strength which had a longer tail. Both were very great baits. I now use natural/chartreuse or chartreuse and Berkley Power Bait shad paddle tail in shad or pearl colors. I catch everything from Bluegill, crappie, white bass, walleye, channel cat or large and smallmouth bass. I might need to try some of your choices next year. Thank you for sharing.

My favorites are Southern pro 2-in hot grubs and anything dark with a chartreuse tail works but my absolute favorite is June bug chartreuse. I also dip the chartreuse tails in Spike-It garlic scent chartreuse to make them brighter. I live in South Carolina and I order them from Grizzly Jig and get them in bulk, it's much cheaper. 😁👌

C & J, - We know you are both big on lure fishing; You could try making some dough, like the carp anglers do, to catch some Croppie etc on! Seriously, they will bite on it! Other fish species do! Use the water where you are going to fish in, or tank water, if area water is too muddy, Not treated tap water! First!, - put small amount water in container; mix some food flavor powder into flour/corn meal! Not burny spices etc! Add Small amounts of food powder into water, stir, knead, make into dough, Not sticky, not too dry! That's basically it! Put small dough pieces on (small) hook/s! To add food scent to lures, especially soft rubber/plastics, put some food powder as above in container, shake lures around, leave inside for some time, to absorb powder flavor! Then, catch some big'uns! 🐟🐠🐟🐠

Any freshwater soft plastic usually 4in or less in watermelon red flake, albino, or white/pearl are killer in the ponds where I use to live. Lures I used flukes, stick style worms in the above colors. That was when I was living on Long island in NY. Since moving to connecticut, I got rid of all my baits, lures and now started over. Now I opted to use just micro lures if you will 3in or less for all fishing except for my medium action style baits and lures that I can cast well on bait caster only. Everything else are ultra light tackle to be used on a 7ft light rod, with a 30/3000size reel or would be compared to a 2000 reel with 6lb mono for ultra light tackle or light tackle.

I live in NE Illinois and have luck from here to Minocqua, WI with these jigs.

Here in Virginia Fall slabs are important. White obviously the majority color, yet blue and black mixed color helps, eighth oz. Seems to work best and the slow action drives them crazy. A front coming in , possibly a sixteenth oz. Color helps me get confident but action work's for me! White with soft blue, it crushes them. They can't help it on the Potomac 😝. Great stuff 👍, thanks. Too early for merry Christmas, fish on, if you can😋. Take care guys, I know you got my gift, saw it! Take care!!! Fork tail needs a special bite relating to the baitfish on hand.
