What is the Best Jig Color? Best Lure Color for Water! Muddy to Clear Water Experiment!
I was curious after doing alot of stained water fishing for crappie why some lure colors would work better than others. I wanted to see the Why behind one lure color working better than another. This same principle works the same for wether you are fishing for bass, crappie, or any other game fish. I tried to replicate what you virtually would see in the shade or light water for that certain water clarity. Let me know which Lure you think was the best for the different water clarities.

Anything with some black on it seems to do well in virtually all water clarities. White does tend to shine in shallow clear water tho!

Yep and if it helps you feel more confident at getting more bites that’s usually the best to go with. Here in Texas it’s hard not to use braid a lot! Thanks bud!

Oh yeah I think I have used the entire rainbow of colors for crappie and then end up settling on a color. It always seems to be white, pink, or chartreuse. Thanks joseph

Especially when you have crystral clear black water, black/ darkbrown-silver baits are prefered. But the color also differs a lot, depending on the depth you are fishing.

Fish actually see black and purple a lot easier that other bright colors like pink, yellow, or lime, at least Salmonids. So this might not be 100% accurate but overall great video.

The color orange always worked great when I would used it as Crappie Bites dough. Every time I would reel in to check the bait, the blue gill and crappie would hit on the small little orange dot. It would work better than a shaped lure funny enough.
