As a mom to a toddler, my son is 2, going into motherhood, my partner and I had talked about wanting 2-3 kids but once you have that first child, it really does flip your world upside down and tests every limit you have. We talk about wanting a second but it makes me worry about how our son will adjust to that, if it's fair to him, do we have the capacity for a second child even. Aside from those internal feelings, you also feel sad because your second will have a better parent than your first got to experience because with your first child, you're both growing up together and figuring it out together. Your second gets the version of you as a parent that's had the trial with the first and knows what's coming up and how better to approach situations. I had 3 siblings growing up and loved it and want that for my son but sometimes I feel like I'm one and done.

Coming from a mom of 5, if you choose to have a 2nd or even 3rd just know you will do great. I know because you have concerns & you also love your child enough to think about him. Parenting in forever evolving & so are our children. Look at it as not giving a better self to a new child but just maturing into parenthood.
