Well, its not quite true. I've been researching Pak-India relations for 2 years. But when it comes to Indians, I found them very irrational and proudly where they've fantasized that Indian soldiers have somehow superpowers and Pak is Bhikari etc. And surprisingly, where Israelis themselves don't bother to defend themselves, Indians find it their moral duty to support Israelis and abuse Muslims.

Where son of an elite killed a middle class ACCA medalist. Where a qualified professor is kicked out and immediately hired by Harvard? Where even the noble prize winner was not appreciated. I’m a teacher and I have a student who learnt game development from YT out of interest. He is just 13. His parents are forcing him to go in military. In spite of all perverted policies, Pakistan's economic performance was comparable to India's till 1990. 5. It's good to see history from different perspectives. While it is true that in 50s, 60s a selected group was enjoying most of the benefits, but it's also true that growth happened and there was investment in new technologies and industrialisation. With nationalisation and resulting mismanagement, these industries didn't grow anymore or even ran into big losses, and there was no investment in new technologies, thus today these organisations have become redundant. One shouldn't forget that one has to grow first in order to redistribute later. BTW you skipped Zia, howcome there wasn't a privatisation drive under him ??? Who were the beneficiaries?? so things are not as clear-cut as being put. In social democratic countries, redistribution of wealth is done by taxation of the elites. Talking of taxation, the biggest economic sector of agriculture, doesn't pay taxes. Also, there were no REAL land reforms in Z.A Bhutto times. So was nationalisation really about social justice, or was it about targeting certain people in a power play...so a much more nuisanced approach is required if one wants to learn from history..

Nice to see an academic channel in Urdu. Whereas the overview of the book is fine but as a Pakistani delving into the causes of things that happened in the first ten years will give a better a understanding. From 1947-1957 the Pakistani government didn’t have many options. Jinnah insisted the muslim industrialists of Bombay to come to Pakistan to establish Industry. At the time of partition there were only 3 factories in geographical Pakistan. Some of these industrialist were promised monopoly in some sectors. You have highlighted that most projects housing etc were done in Karachi but you fail to mention that Karachi accounted for more than 70% of the economic output. It was also the Federal Capital thus deserving further investment. Most of these guarantees were broken with nationalization of Bhutto and subsequent marginalization of the urdu speaking muhajirs - the group most responsible for the early decades of relative success of Pakistani Economy.

I really hope that the current generation that derives its patriotism from Nehru bashing, realises what Nehru did for India. He had his own shortcomings and has made mistakes; but as an ardent student of history myself (not WhatsApp educated), I can suggest that history cannot deny what Nehru did for India. Of course there have been others too, but my comments are directed more towards who love to bash Nehru. Similarly for PVNR, Dr Manmohan Singh and AB Vajpayee. Nehru's socialism was very unique, different from what was being practiced in post WW II year. Whilst the Europe gravitated towards Keynesian model, Nehru and his rota of bureaucrats transformed socialist idea to India's demands and what stemmed out of it was Nehruvian Socialism. Most Nehru bashers may be tempted to call me a communist history student; however as a matter of truth I have more preference for Von hayek's economic model that Germany pursued after WW II. We as citizens of India have lot to thank and indebted to Nehru for his foresight and contribution in making modern India. Having said this, it of-course Nehru cannot be acquited of some geo-political blunders that he made but neither can he be painted as a historical villain what current ruling party of India would like people to believe in.

Nehru is no bashed simply or blindly the list of territories he distributed are too huge to list here 😅 when the time came for decisive action he fumbled he had feuds with various other leaders before and after independence most famous of which were S.C Bose Sardar Patel and Dr.Ambedkar he was not the man of his own values see the case of Manju Sultanpuri he was easily influenced as in the case of V.K Menon (he was India’s first commissioner to UK and did fairly bad job mentioned in the Memoirs of K.M Panikkar) but despite that he supported him bringing crony culture he did take heed of elders words as in the case of China(Despite the warning of Sardar Patel) he led India through failed industrial polices backstabbed J.R.D Tata by forcing nationalisation on India’s industrialists under him India grew at only 4-5% he started failed foreign policies like the hilariously named non alignment movement which backfired spectacularly in the 71 war when Indonesia despite being a member of the movement aided Pakistan in it’s misadventure India under a hardcore communist like Netaji or the free market capitalist Rajaji would have been far better than democratic Nehru regime(I am not against democracy) to sum up here are some of gifts to the nation: 1)Coco islands and Kabo valley were given to Burma 2)The Kashmir issue 3)Giving up Aksai chin and parts of Arunachal almost without a fight 4)He and Sardar Patel can jointly responsible for the security lapse in the case of Gandhiji(Tushar Gandhi has written an interesting book on that called let’s kill Gandhi) 5)Rejected the UN permanent seat(this was also mentioned by Dr.Sashi Tharoor) 6)He did complete the desire of Gandhi which is dissolving congress

U should know one thing he was there for his biometric when the rangers arrived to arrest him , He is not willing to surrender he is informing public from the day one ,unlike anyother leader who was lauched by establishment according to u . Nab has nothing to do with this arrest we all know so the intentions r v clear , thays why we need to protest against this so we can stop this cycle of power . Otherwise this rotten system will continue like always

Shehzad bhai i disagree with u on ZA bhutto as just do a single podcast with someone who has been a victim of bhutto’s doing whether people of balochistan, workers party members, hostility towards india etc though obviously I’m in favour of civilian supremacy and it was sad how bhutto and bhuttos died but it doesn’t mean authoritarians can be label as good for democracy.

Not being labelled good. Just better than Yahya before him and Zia after him.

@@ThePakistanExperience naah shehzad bhai for me there’s no difference except for the system, as I can’t…..there’s no difference between treating the common man, inflicting your personal ideas to the whole society and in doing so the worst oppressions by each of these whether yahya, zia or bhutto…..i guess it’s easier for a lot of us to blame zia and move on but the reality is these ideas were already being glorified or promoted throughout our society for the sake of elite and majority of the middle class….even in zia’s era majority of Pakistan was behind this “jihaad idea”, hell majority of the muslim world because common person doesn’t have much time to think about all these things but it is always the elite of every region who decides the identity and ideology of that region but in Pakistan’s case our elite doesn’t love, own, respect and they are themselves very cheap, confused, slaves etc that’s why we have a society that majority of us doesn’t wanna live in.

@@kuldeeps90 Brahmanism means religious exploitation of Dalit and Shudra. Have you ever read Dr. Bheem Rao Ambedkar. And moreover, India is also an elite upper caste playground, read Arundhati Roy.
