I had a call with one of her assistants for the course. He asked for $12,000 on the phone that day for the full course if I signed up and paid that day. Otherwise, it was $15,000! Not much catches me by surprise anymore these days, but I was at a loss for words for a good solid two minutes. He thought my video froze because I was silent and still. Lol

Hi Shimmy, FYI - Dylan's course is $2,500 without coaching but it can cost more than 5K-10K with unlimited coaching (depending on the length of time you choose). The reason why I know is I was one of her students. In my opinion, her course is good if you like driving your own traffic through social media (which I don't like to do) and if you have a handmade business (she's really good with strategies on that because her shop is handmade). I have a print on demand shop and I struggle mostly with design and her course focuses mainly on how to run a business as a whole and they don't teach you how to design, etc...If someone is new to print on demand, and have a limited budget, I recommend Cassiy Johnson, Heather Studio and Simply Shawna (you didn't mention Shawna here but she's great) for free content. I agree with you, I would NOT spend that kind of money on a course on etsy.

I am in Dylan’s course and her strategy is not only for POD. Her thing is helping students building a business starting with Etsy then she helps graduating Etsy if we choose to be independent on Shopify. Her strategy works for any type of ecommerce business. I don’t say the course is the best, the coaching part is very frustrating to be honest because they are all over the place and you don’t get one person to answer your questions. You get 4-5 coaches and each one of them have a different style so you end up more confused… But honestly the amount of information they have in the course is amazing. She teaches how to find trends and what type of products you need to add to your shop then the pricing strategy in phases. I think the course itself is worth it but coaching is not

I personally came into the POD space through Joe Robert's content. I've really agreed with his strategy of Shopify + social media, and it also made sense to me that selling higher-priced products (not t-shirts) could make it easier to be profitable with paid ads. But now that I know about you and Chris Heckman, I'll have to dig deeper into how both of you make paid traffic work with t-shirts, too. In any case, I'm with you on building your own brand/store. Thank you for your video! I'm just starting out, no shop yet, but something weird happened to me looking around (as a shopper) on Etsy last week. I went on the website, looked at two t-shirts from the same seller and the next shirt I tried to look at went to a page that gave me a message like 'You have visited too many products (?, can't remember the exact word) lately'. Wish I would have screen shot it. The message came up twice, once again after I looked at mugs or something else. I thought to myself "Why would a company selling ANYTHING try to drive clients away." Really blew my mind and made me wonder about even using them at all. Not sure I will.

No, Alex's strategy is to steal from people who have really good ideas and flood that market niche. I don't think I've ever heard him come up with an original idea. I put him at a never tier and that goes for anyone stealing an idea and makes a hundred variations little different from the original and calling it their own. He basically destroying the person who came up with the original concept. What a nice guy. I also disagree about anyone using Ai to create t-shirts unless it's a variation of their original artwork.

It's called business. You move slow, you'll get left behind. It's not about being first, it's about doing it right with respect to your driving incentives, e.g good product Vs profit... Etc people should expect competition. Amazon's own branded goods, are from doing the same thing!!! Stealing profitable ideas.
@scollins44366 ай бұрын
@@dan-dv2tn There is a big difference from seeing a great idea and using aspects of the concept in a different way than just taking someones idea and stealing all of their customers. If you think that just stealing an idea and stealing customers is great for you then you may want to reconsider, because one day you could find yourself in a lawsuit that could cost you a lot of money. Be original, get a trade mark, get a copyright and warn anyone who decides to infringe on your product. If they don't listen sue them for all of the money they were making off of your product plus damages to your product brand. Never lie, never steal, never think that you are better then the guy who came up with the original idea. Never take advantage of anyone. If you do it will cost you sooner or later.
@pat40055 ай бұрын
Yes, I completely agree about AI. It should be banned because of the theft of people's original art under the guise of "training" the developer's software. But I have to disagree about the idea or concept use. Ideas are NOT able to become registered with the US Copyright Office. And there is a good reason for that. Anyone can have an idea. Whether the act on it, or not, and if they do a terrible job at expressing their idea or a great one, they cannot gate-keep an "idea" or concept and do not own it. IP (Intellectual Property) on the other hand, is tangible, and can be registered with the US Copyright Office, so that if it is copied or misused and abused by a lazy thief, the artist or Copyright holder can demand their copied work be deleted from a store or platform and go after monetary compensation. There would be no competition in any products if gate-keeping of ideas was somehow enforced, which would not be even possible. Everything we use everyday started as an idea. Cars, furniture, clothing, cell phones, airplanes, films, recipes, books, paint colors, etc., the list is endless and all these things started with an idea. Many people have ideas, but don't develop them, or do so poorly. No industry, whether it is a product or service, can grow without people building upon past ideas and coming up with new ones that they and others add their own take onto it. I do hate when people are lazy and cheap and outright steal other artist's, designer's and companies' IP, but as I said earlier, that is a Copyright theft.

I'm curious to see where you rank Christina (C.U. Online) on this scale. I'm currently working on designs, preparing to start my store at the beginning of the year. I've mainly been watching Chris Heckman and Christina for guidance. I just discovered your stuff, today. This is only my second video of yours after watching your review of Greg. So, now I'm curious to see where Christina ranks with your scale.

Thinking about switching from Etsy to Shopify because I liked the experience and I liked the freedom it gived you. Can you explain the Shopify fees when it comes to sales? Everyone knows Etsy charges its fees plus the 20 cents per listing per sale. I think Shopify has something similar to this right?

I wish you have done this video two weeks ago before I signed up for Dylan’s course and paid $2,000 for her “Strategies”. The course is not bad , but there’s no guidance after watching hours and hours of videos. I feel like her course is more suited for handmade Etsy shops, though they do have successful POD students as well. The unlimited coaching calls are around $7,000-$8,000 😂.

@@shimmymorris1 You can’t get a refund. They make you sign a pile of documents for it. It’s very scary!
@juliamascardo6386 ай бұрын
@@shimmymorris1 She does not permit refunds, no. I believe that the company she has who runs credit checks on potential students and handles the financing options also is the company that does her collections (although I don't know if they handle the court filings to recoup the money). The whole bit about not sharing the price of her course online (except for her "how to set up an Etsy shop" $1000 Quickstart) and the aggressive sales tactics with her "free call" remind me a lot of timeshare pitches. But because I enjoy data analysis, I was able to take videos that she shared on Instagram/KZbin/Facebook, comments from her students, and looking over her students' shops and actually piece together the key things she loves to promote from her course (7 types of products was accidentally shared on an IG live; FB strategy can be figured out by looking at the pages for her students; aggressive pricing strategy can be pieced together by observing her students' shops; etc.). It probably took me about 20 hours over the course of a year to put it all together, but that was a much better investment than the $3000 course for me!

Simply Shawna has a good channel centered around building a POD business on Etsy. She’s a former teacher so she has a great teaching style. I tried Dylan’s channel but wasn’t into her style of teaching. I want to say it comes off as less informative - like gives small tidbits as a way to get you to buy her course whereas Cassie and Shawna give you essentially everything you need to know to do what they have done. I applied all of their info and was able to do almost $300k revenue in my first full year. In order to make 6 figures I need to double that and I am trying. It’s definitely not easy 😅I’m starting a Shopify now based on your advice. I’m clueless about Facebook and advertising strategies though. Are there professionals who can do this? I have no idea where to start. I don’t have a social media presence.
@Stunnaz846 ай бұрын
You mean 7 figures? Lol
@Katsmom66 ай бұрын
@@Stunnaz84 I mean in order for me to personally profit 6 figures, I need to bring in about $600,000 in revenue. Not 7 figures. I did about $300,000 in revenue last year (my first full year). This year I need to double it. I am on track to but it’s not guaranteed. I still need to keep up my momentum and effort.
@Katsmom66 ай бұрын
@@Stunnaz84 to be clear, if I do $600,000 this year, I will make between $120,000-$150,000 (excluding sales and things like fees for canva, Kittl, mockups and taxes). That’s my goal for this year. My profit margin is between 20 and 30 percent at the moment, depending on the product. I keep my prices competitive, and I run ads and sales often. This is on Etsy only. This year, I will have spent less on mockups as I’m now fully stocked with a large variety. I do plan to increase my ads budget though as we approach Q4. 7 figures would be nice. I’m not sure how realistic that is for me but I’m hoping that adding a Shopify store will help me increase my income.

@shimmymorris1 No, you "literally" didn't. That was my point. A couple of quoted examples before I lost interest... 1:24... "so we're gonna start with Alec". Alec who, or is it Alex who? 7:35 "Juna"? Juna who? 9:21 "Ryan, ok so Ryan does a whole bunch of things"... I guess that depends on which Ryan, now doesn't it? Could it be Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling, Ryan Seacrest, or Ryan Giggs? I flicked to a different video after that

@shimmymorris1 Someone points something out to help you, and you try to deflect and shoot the messenger? The point, Kemosabe, was... if you created quality content, no one would have to go searching for anyone afterwards. All that time spent creating the video and you leave something so simple & basic out. How hard was it for you to list the people you were judging in the first place? Actually, wait.... you thought you had. Then you thought that you had 'literally' mentioned everyone's full name when talking about them too. Turns out, neither was accurate. Then you throw out an insult about 'mental capacity'? Hysterical. You're throwing stones in a glass house. I don't even know how you showed up in my feed in the first place? Leave it be, I won't be reading any more of your comments.

Warning!!!!!! If this guy is talking rubbish we are all stuffed. I would always take few ideas from everyone and combine them and try. And also how much he makes and how transparent he is. Regardless we will never know how truthful these guys are. Because the most money people make is by telling people how to make money rather than they make by implimenting their plan. It's very very easy to manipulate these profits they make as they say.
