In case you are unaware, the bit about computers apparently being hacked is mostly false. The only things that these websites do is pull your IP address and also browser the agent, which you would see when you press F12, go to "Network" and type "cause:fetch". Hacking a computer downright would require malicious software to be installed, usually by download, but this doesn't happen, so the "your gonna get hacked if you visit this site" phrase is falsified. I'm not saying I support these sites; I just wanted to point this small detail out

@@JSE_NM The only way that they would be able to remote access your computer is if they downloaded a peice of software first, which once again, doesn't happen in this scenario - all that happenes is your IP address and user agent is pulled from the browser. Besides, even if a website could directly interface with a computer and remote access into it, modern operating systems are good at defending themselves against these kind of attacks, so the effect would be minimal. Pulling an IP address isn't a form of remote access, it's a feature in HTML and Javascript used by many different types of websites on the internet.

Hello Lemmy! I just wanna correct you on something. Don't be mad this is NOT hate towards you. I watched the video and other than the scam website and stuff you mentioned you talked about the taking Vux vux's audio. Now that's not really considered stealing. It's a feature on KZbin shorts that allows you to remix others sounds and create your own videos that is normaly considered as a trend too. You might be wondering why Vux vux is so popular, it is beacause so many people remixing his audios and he is fine with it beacause youtube pushes his content out even more. If he don't like other people using his audio he can turn off the remixing option. Please don't say its content stealing when it's a feature on KZbin. Some of My favourite creators also make their own video to a popular sound too and they put lot of efforts to them by editting, creating beautiful avatars and adding their personal touches. I know the ones you talked about are brainrot. But calling people content stealers just beacause they use a audio that they have permission to use is not right. If that considerd as stealing then non of us will be able to create edits to popular songs beacause its also using a another person's audio. Sometimes music artists copyrights them so they can earn more (I am not sure how that work) Again this is not hate towards you I am a subscriber of yours. I just wanna let you know
