ok im just going to say this. to all of you kpop fans out there. your bias is ALLOWED to date. they're not "yours" they are their own person and are mature adults who can do what they want. and please, if they are dating don't suddenly hate that person and their partner. If you are a true fan you would be happy for them.

what do you know about K-POP fans for invested to their Idols? Love Fantasy and Money... Actually i'm not K-POP fans but i totally agree with you, they actually allow to dating but it's truly hard for fans because they give their love and money for show to them. if Idols go dating with oppsite sex the fans truly jealous and feel betrayal for their love and money to the idols. Just like you have a girlfriend/boyfriend you do everything for your love, support and help, but instead they cheating on you, and you totally got mad towards them, then you start terror and hate them. It's all about love fantasies and effort to Idols and Fans, so no wonder why they hate them and start bullying

I remember wanting to be a singer or dancer ever since I was 6. I was born and raised in Korea, and after I told my parents that I wanted to be a kpop idol they were very happy for me. I thought that they were going to support me with training, and everything. But I soon realized the only reason they were actually happy for me was because tye thought once I became a kpop idol, (which I didn’t because I didn’t get into the company), they would start earning money. I auditioned for sm entertainment, but I sadly did not have the visuals to get in. I trained for 6 and a half years, and I started training when I was 14. My parents were *really* mad when I didn’t get in, because they has spent so much money on my training. so yh (Ik you didn’t ask but I decided to share my story because why not)

Though I can respect them and enjoy the music as well as their own personalities, I would never dare myself to actually stan KPOP idols. Knowing what they went through, what they still go through, I would want them to just leave all of it behind if it becomes too much to handle. If an idol ever retired, I want them to just live normally again, find someone to settle down with, start a family of their own or pursue other things. It may sound demeaning to most of you who are reading this. *"How could you make them quit when they're ahead? After already suffering so much?"* *"Why would they listen to you? You're a nobody"* *"Who are you to tear them away from us?"* *"Don't just assume things about people, who the hell do you even think you are?"* But ask yourself this, if you saw someone you love (A sibling or maybe a significant other), choosing this kind of life when you (A KPOP stan), who understands what kind of physical and psychological abuse they'll have to go through and that their lives might never include you ever again, tell me, *do you really want that?* *Do you really want to see them go through that?* *Yeah. It's not fun now, is it?* Thriving in this world is already hard enough and now they're going in with a spotlight cast above their heads everywhere they go. Everything they say and do, monitored, judged and at the worst of it all, potentially silenced. And you can go training for years on end and still not even make it onto the stage you want. I'll end my comment by saying this: Aspiring idols, have heart, push if you think you can but do understand that it's okay to just stop if you had enough. All the fame and fortune, what beauty you can achieve for yourself in the world, it all means nothing if you hurt yourself for it. If you kill yourself for it.

I was a kpop fan in high school, but my tastes changed drastically during my junior year and I'm no longer a fan. Despite this, I really respect these idols for everything they do and how they've inspired many fans. At the same time, I'm sad for them. They can no longer just be themselves without media attention, they have almost no private life, they have unrealistic expectations set on them, and there is so much competition and pressure. It's such an unhealthy environment, not to mention the crazy fans and haters/stalkers. I was a fan of kpop when Jonghyun died and I remember listening to his music afterward and really beginning to truly hear the pain in some of his songs. It sucks that this is the reality for kpop idols and it sucks that people in the industry are encouraging this type of pressure and behavior. Idols are human beings with personal connections, thoughts, memories, emotions, and struggles. They're not a toy or a tool, but the industry sure loves to treat them like they are.

I mean it's okay that they are concerned about fans because we support them, buy concert tickets, their merchandise, their albums etc. but then we don't purchase their lives with those products. They don't have to be sorry for choosing their happiness over others or having a family of their own. They pulled a lot of people out from depression but then they themselves are becoming a prey of that. I am an EXO-L but then I will support any idol if they are being dragged unnecessarily. You really got the point exactly. Big applause for you. Even K-idols are monitored by management staff right in front of them when idols are live-streaming and under very strict control with which pics to upload and who they can follow on Insta. Once I got shocked, on a live-stream, one SKZ member asked his staff if he can follow a male sports star and he got rejected right away. SKZ members opened their own Insta accounts but it doesn't belong to them at all. They just lack a right to speak up for themselves. Whats worse, the management agency just let stalking fans and bad commenters do whatever they want by not taking active actions. Kidols are lacking personal space and time to chill. It would be very much frustrated and suffocating being under much surveillance 24/7.

In other countries, music industry means making good music by talented people. But, in kpop it's first making members into good looking dols and ask them to act like boyfriend\girlfriend material even like gay, so teens will obsess with them and litens Or support to whatever songs they sing. It's like companies\ idols want to make toxic fans to get more money, normal fans just listen to music but toxic one are who spends lot money and time to make their idols standout. Anyways companies succeed in this as kpops fans making overrated everything that their idols do. But i feel it's unfair to so many real music artists out there who believe in their talent

Tbh as fans we all know this yet can't really control it.The process of becoming an idol is really harsh and tough and even we can't control it. As fans we try to reduce the further mistreatments that the company project towards the idols. But that doesn't hide the fact that sometimes it's the fans who are the root cause of the idols suffering. The constant bullying and not to mention the obsessed ones are has a huge impact on idols.I truly feel sorry for them. They have to go through a lot already and if they do even a small thing wrong, they dragged for it. Like I hate that female and male idols can't even look at each other and if they do the next day dating rumours spring up and it literally becomes a Chaos. The constant body shaming and double standards are just not it.But we still try to protect our idols from the toxic parts of fandoms. We constantly are trying to stop the mistreatment and bullying they face.

My sister is a huge k-pop fan, obsessed with korean culture, drama, reality shows, etc. tbh. She doesn't want to eat with us because "we are too boring". I was never a fan of this they always seemed a bit lifeless and superficial. Now when I started researching why are people so obsessed, I feel sorry for these idols and stars. They seem superficial because they genuinely lack happiness, but have to do their job because their career depends on their fans and expectations. My sister adores them and everything they do, I have started noticing changes in her behaviour she is becoming superficial and ignorant. She doesnt eat food if it's not "tasty", gets irritated if she is free and can't watch, prefers to eat food watching these videos instead of interacting with family. All her attention is on exterior things, things that look good or taste good. All her focus is on looking perfect, she doesn't care about her mental or physical health. I feel sorry for her, because she doesn't listen to us and she cannot realise this on her own that she is addicted and needs to change her habits. Edit: please ignore the comments in the reply section. I have not shared this experience to discourage the k-pop groups, it's just the obsession that I see around me that makes me concerned. If you like some artists watch them, don't get too obsessed with them. You have one life, it's your greatest gift, explore it and enjoy. Accept the differences in opinions and let people have their opinion instead of just hair pulling each other. Peace! ✌️

The sad truth that Sulli took her own Life makes me cry very much, because the only wish she had was to become a mother. And a k-pop Idol who I respect very much is Hwasa, she don’t care about these beauty standards, she is not afraid of really being a human, she is brave, all k-pop idols are brave, and We need to respect them and other people for who they are. The world can be a much better place if We go against ”What is rigth” and ”What is wrong” No one deserves hate. We need to help each other. Now. ❤️

They don't deserve such harsh treatment like cyberbullying and tight restrictions, they already have so much to deal with, physically and mentally. Mad props to them. Please learn to develop, dear k pop agencies.

i understand the most parts about it. how the way the mistreatment some k-pop idols are getting. so i completely understand about that. and i know how that can all get. especially with the k-pop industry i understand all of that. how can k-pop idols receive that kind of SHIT. especially with bullying and abuse they received. it's not good for them to have that. they deserve to be treated with love and respect. just like with my boy band is. BTS.💜💜❤❤❤💜💜💜. they deserve more than that. not the abuse and bullying. because it's not good for them emotionally. especially when receiving that kind of crap from people. hate literally goes on anywhere. no matter who does it to you, it's anyone who does hate TOWARDS YOU. no matter what it is.

I totally agree with you but just to say many choose this. They know it will be a world of pain, but the slim chance they do succeed they will earn tenfold of whatever their dream net worth. Also, the first years money earned is given to management, but the later years the income will increase expodentially. But I totally agree with you saying how stop bullying people about their own life.

One of my friends was an obsessive Sehun (EXO) fan to a disturbing level. She genuinely, unironically believed that the guy would get married to her. She wrote erotic fanfiction, had a collection of 1000+ pictures of him and even had wet dreams about him. It's bonechilling. She saw him as a thing and not as a person

Entertainment industry is harsh everywhere not just in kpop. When u want to be famous there are challenges that come with being famous. The only difference with kpop that I see is that it's only kids who become trainees. So they are easily manipulated and mistreated. That's why u see in America, parents if their kids are young they go with them everywhere to make sure they not mistreated. But kpop idols parents just stay away. And let the management take care of everything. So the kpop parents need to step in and be involved to see if their children are taken care of. Entertainment industry is already hard for older ppl so if it's just a 15 year old obviously it will be hard too especially if the parents just let management take care of everything.
