And you cannot show me a single Republican president who has ever been preferable to any Democratic president in this regard. But you CAN show me Independent candidates that have been spoilers who divided the vote and ensured that the evil (ignorant) Republican candidate wins... Once again your explanation of "the game" is spot on and easy to understand. You encourage critical thinking and independence which is what we should strive for as good citizens of our democracy. Unfortunately herd mentality gives comfort to people who need support of the herd to feel heard/ included-strenth in numbers. If we could accept and understand that we are ok forming opinions independently while listening to new information, our decisions are better and more informed. We need to develop more confidence in ourselves and be less like sheep following without considering facts rather than feelings supplied by the majority and news media/social media. It's not the way we grew up thinking, Chris. It is hard to change. We must, of course, change to survive and we will, but it will take time and work on the voter's part. The problem with this is that critical thinkers (independents) already do understand the game, but have no power right now with our current voting system. We still have states with closed primaries that force you to take sides or you don't get a vote. We still have an electoral college and blue vs red state issue which could be improved slightly by getting rid of the electoral college and replacing it with a requirement that each state elect one Republican and one Democratic senator. Right now Independents are those kids that won't join the lacrosse team or the football team. They are bullied and basically thrown in their lockers with the door slammed in their face by politicians, media, and other voters. jmo

The smartest man I've ever known refused to use labels for his politics. Instead it was important to give every issue & circumstance respectable thought. Often that means NO immediate opinion and to never make it personal, always consider the good of people as a whole. It's made me an American who just believes things should get better... For everyone. Starting with the same things most 1st world countries have such as universal healthcare & education. To me these 2 essentials could change everything for the better. I don't know what that makes me and I don't care. But as usual I'm put in the position where I have to vote for the candidate who won't get us what we really need but will do the least harm. What bothers me is how government ignores what the majority of Americans want?! We can do it, most of us know we can do it and it's time. Agree with a lot of your takes here Chris. The only problem I have is finding any parity about the 2 parties or their Media(Left/Right). It’s disingenuous presenting the two parties as the same and you participate in the same game when you fail to clearly state the difference. Sam Harris once said; “So much of the what ails us is a story of bad incentives. Bad incentives are so powerful that they corrupt even good people. At a minimum you need reasonably good people in a system trying to navigate the grain of bad incentives” MSNBC creating a left leaning story out of nothing to generate clicks and money out of their audience ain’t the same as Fox News simply fabricating Election fraud lies to a point of destroying Democracy. And this where I have always had found a problem with centrists messaging. While those 2 parties are corrupt, say for example on approving Defence Budgets, corporate Tax Cuts etc, one party is also destroying Women’s Rights, Promoting Racism, etc while at it. While presenting these cases, it’s very important that you draw that distinction because what happens when presented without distinction, it only divides people more because it assumes the 2 evils to be equal, instead of atleast bringing those more moderate and progressive views together to tackle more complex divisions.

The only intelligent comment here. If people are equivocating between democrats and republicans at this point, then they are republicans who just won't say. How is it difficult to choose between fascist lunacy and democracy? The choice should not engender any ambivalence in a sane person. The 'both sides' centrist argument is dangerous because it creates a false equivalence between true mendacity on one side and at the very least facts and truth on the other. It creates an impression of the democrat position being extreme and just as subject to criminal falsehood, when this isn't remotely true, even if democrats aren't anywhere near perfect and are subject to corrupt lobbying. Cuomo characterising this as a game is unhelpful. A game can only be played with rules that fairly apply and are followed by all players. If one side is flagrantly cheating, making up rules and claiming victory when they lost even despite all their cheating that is not a valid game. I find cuomo gets a lot of unwarranted adulation because he's very attractive and charming. It is annoying when charming people come out with mediocre analyses that wouldn't be praised were they plain or lacked charisma. In another video, he actually says he doesnt think conviction should happen as it will cause chaos! Chris! Chaos has been here and will proliferate regardless. Doing the right thing and prosecuting crime has to be a fundamental basic. The republican party has become the largest cult in human history in a non-religious context. The only way through this is mass deprogramming. That means neutralising the leaders of the cult first, then being magnanimous with the followers which is already a hard pill to swallow. If they don't sort trump out, whether he leads the cult movement or not will be irrelevant. The ideology will remain, with more competent leadership. And that's before you factor in the people who know its all lies but go along with it because they see it through the prism of maintaining white supremacy. They will do anything, including throw away dignity so long as their imagined high status is cemented. Nothing will bring them back and they long predate Trump. They were manageable before, but Obama's presidency sent them into overdrive.

The "game" has been placed on steroids! Way, way back...there were 3 tv networks (ABC, NBC, and CBS). They all had nightly news telecasts and they all reported on essentially the same news. Which network you watched usually came down to which newscaster you liked watching. A top newscaster might hold that job for 20 years. Which doesn't leave much opportunity for up and comers to make the big bucks. Now along comes social media and almost anyone can start attracting a following and start having pretty damn good money flowing in! None of these people need to have any background in journalism, or any deep subject knowledge...they just need to voice their opinions. There is just too much of this happening...all these people just wanted to get rich, They don't care if their opinions are right or wrong, true or false. They go where the money is! The majority of networks don't really report the news, they offer opinion! CNN, FOX, MSNBC...most of their airtime is devoted to opinion, devoted to appealing to people's emotions. THIS is what drives in the money!

Im a Bass fisherman and we (my dad and I would go out Bass fishing together) my dad would question the scientist on what they were doing to the water and why they were out there and where were they going to play scientist and of course they didnt respond to my dad until my dad was persistent. Then they told my dad some things and this was in Florida. It was quit the politics and then the constructiotn folks destroyed the canel by putting shell rock and dirt over live fish and chased Alligators out from their homes it was insane Chris and the construction workers was letting people take the live fish out of the water there was a problem though to many fish to save. It really sucked to see that and then complain about St Lucie River belaming Lake Okechobee poluting St Lucie River when it was the grinders which are simular to a septic tank difference is they have a pump in them and when they over flow human waste comes out poluting the water and they had an expert come out thats how confident it was Lake Okechobee but NO it was the human waste!!! SMH!!! Lake Okechobee had nothing to do with it. Those are the games we're playing here in South Florida with Desantis and then the counts of Covid 19 the miscounts?

This has nothing to do with being a game anymore. There is a faction of our society that doesn’t believe in democracy when they lose an election. They are fighting to make it so they never lose again, by any means necessary, voters be damned. This isn’t about “rejecting the game” as Como says here. This is about rejecting fascism. The main stream NEWS media, is the biggest game promoter. I’m old enough remember when “the news” was simply recorded (without being spliced and diced) and we viewed. Then we developed our opinions about the events we just saw. Editorials (opinions) were editorials and they were called such. And, they came intelligently from both sides. I am tired of newscasters telling us what was said and not letting us hear what what said in its context. Or telling us immediately after (without time to digest it) what was really said. Do they think we are not capable of thinking ourselves? Written stories used to have to hold a “factual” standard. I agree with you about the “game”. However, I have listened to what you site as “the game” and you mainly siting what you can see from the Republican Party. Maybe someday you will take a good long long look at original footage of speeches. And, see how verbiage does get changed to fit certain narratives. Many Democrats switched simply because they checked books out for themselves, they have watched original speeches and conferences, watched congressional meetings throughly, read many reports. Read “fact checks”, where the “False” in the title didn’t match the context in their own article. Or where the main con tent was true and minutely there was one minor falsity and the title said “false”. There is a lot of real info out there and we are NOT given but “click” bites sensationalized falsely by the main stream media. I suggest you, really check out some of the stories you brought up. Sometimes where there is a lot of smoke that you might think is “the game” is really really a serious issue. You may need to check out more throughly. Many that have changed from Democrats to Republican because have really checked some of these things out for themselves. I believe both parties need to clean house so to speak. But, there is a reason people voted for “orange man” in the first place. You may be surprised. I agree “the game” is dividing us. But, the game has been the set agenda by the main stream news media towards the Democrats. And, there are serious serious issues really need honest coverage and need addressed.
