The man, foreigner or not is NOT automatically and LEGALLY obligated to take care of the wife's family- This is a MYTH that started from the foreigners. They were not forced by any means to help. THEY CONSENTED OR DECIDED TO HELP. It's on the man, if he consents or not. So better not marry a Filipina if this is gonna be a problem.

I do agree with you that " The Filipina pea " is a sex promoter and even could be described as a " grifter" . Her audience seems to be mostly made up of older men who don't have any chance at meeting a good or attractive woman in their lives . She makes outrageous claims that ANY man can get a good woman in her country . Much of what she says seems to come right out of her imagination and some can be quite dangerous. In one video she interviews a Filipina woman who CLAIMS to have been thrown off a bridge but if you listen , contradictions abound. The woman also recounts how she met her future Canadian husband , but when one does the math its clear , she was vastly UNDER AGE when she started relations with that Canadians . One wonders why he now spends his time in a south American country and has not tried to return to his native Canada . ( I also received threats from him when i pointed out the math on his child brides age ) ( Of coarse I invited him to come on up to Canada to talk to me in person but then he would have been immediately arrested by Canadian authorities for his sexual actions with underage girls in the Philopenes . haha . The " Pea " was not happy with me pointing out these truths and lashed out as well in the comments sections .

It is all true. Born and live in the Philippines, I can attest to this. If you are rich, you need to get security to guard your wealth because you may never know. No matter how good you are with martial arts, guns, knives, or self-defense concepts out there, you are nothing when your enemy will do something to you. There's a word called traitor and ambush, and there's nothing you can do about it unless it's not your time to die, so you're going to survive, maybe.

That and the rooftop Karaoke parties till 2am in the morning. The noise is constant and non-stop. I never experienced any of that in Thailand or Cambodia after 2 years in Siem Reap. All quiet and peaceful here. One more thing… when you’re in a serious relationship with a filipina, you are expected to support her and her entire family! 😳 So, proceed with caution on all fronts.

If I criticised Thailand or Vietnam, they don't really care because they know their country is a take it or leave it, if you like it, then welcome, if you don't like it, you can so somewhere else. I find that the filipinos are too emotional and sensitive people and are only happy when foreigners praised the philippines.

I agree with some of this, but on the other hand it depends on what you're looking for and how you'll conduct your life. For example, if you don't want to cook, then yes, you'll find lots of fried and sugary foods - just get some local friends and get invited to their home! If you're into dating and marriage, you'll always take on the baggage of the family, no matter where they come from, so pick your poison! So really, it's a matter of finding a place where you feel most "you". Many expats in the Philippines are not lying when they're happy there; different things will make different people happy!

The Philippines is truly a country really unlike any other. It is a country where you will love it one day and dislike it the next day. Yes, the Philippines has many negatives, but it also has many positives. It takes time for a foreigner to learn to focus on the positives while avoiding the negatives as much as possible. I will continue to visit the Philippines every year for the joy I get in terms of beautiful islands, kindhearted locals, cold beer, and a laid-back relaxing feeling of peacefulness and contentment. Travel and you will discover countries and places within those countries that fulfills your desires. Stay safe, stay positive, love and appreciate yourself above all.

I think when you make a video about the Philippines or any other country, you should focus on YOUR perspective and not call others "liars" and let your experience speak for itself. I get that you are running a consultation business and you're trying to establish yourself. But there are foreigners who legitimately like the Philippines for what it is. Most people aren't deceived by the fact that the Philippines is a third world country. And there are foreigners who may have had less than stellar experiences but to paint everyone with a broad brush and discredit said "good" experiences as lies only creates confusion and spreads negative generalities that don't apply in every situation. I've met some people who will never settle in Thailand or Indonesia because of the language barrier just as an example. But to each his own.

It shouldn't be a surprise that there are a lot of Western style restaurants in the Philippines. It was once a colony of the USA and the majority of the populace speaks English. The Philippines is as close as you can get to a "Western" culture in Asia. The trash and pollution in the Philippines is not as bad as it used to be in the 70s. Compared to back then, more Filipinos are more environmentally conscious and in places like Coron and El Nido, they do ty to minimize garbage litter and one time plastic use. Even Manila is now overall "cleaner" than back in the 70s and 80s and the local rivers and Manila Bay were heavily polluted and filled with waste and garbage.

I love the bluntness, and I unfortunately agree with some of the cons you've mentioned. The title of the video is quite concerning though. I don't quite understand the point of it. Is it to garner attention? Is it to invalidate all of the others' opinions about the country just because their POVs do not align with yours? Or is it something else? I'm saying this because you've said the word "LYING" with such conviction. No, other youtubers are not lying to anybody. They, for sure, knew about all these things you've mentioned and probably have had firsthand experiences with them. However, as tourists in the country, it is a no-brainer that they would only visit and focus on the best attractions. That said, these vloggers only have good things to say about the country as they speak from experience and the perspective of a "vacationer." If you spent money for an out-of-the-country trip, why would you visit shitty places in the first place? You forgot to mention the noise. After living here for years, I genuinely believe Filipinos might be a different species when it comes to handling sound. It never ceases to amaze me how people here can tolerate so much noise. I honestly believe they’re either deaf or have developed some kind of immunity to it. For foreigners, it’s almost unbearable. I’ve seen four people sitting across from each other, blasting movies or games from their phones at full volume, yet somehow they manage to tune out all other sounds. I have no idea how they do it-how can they block out everything around them and only focus on what they want to hear? The music on the buses is louder than in any nightclub, and I’m not exaggerating. I seriously wonder how it’s physically possible to be immune to that level of noise. The guys with whistles on the buses are incredibly loud, yet no one seems bothered. This is not just loud talking; it’s like having your ears right next to a giant speaker, and people don’t even flinch. I don’t get it. Imagine this: I’m using earplugs, and I can still hear the noise. Even with earplugs, it’s hard to handle. Anyone can explain me that?
@cp2445
@cp2445 2 ай бұрын
I’m Filipino, and I agree with you about the noise. There’s so much noise, especially in the big cities. In fact, if you go to densely populated places in Manila, the noise is just a part of life. People congregate everywhere, listening to music like they own the place, playing karaoke until after midnight as if they don’t care if someone is trying to sleep 😢 I think it’s just part of being in a situation where people want to enjoy things like music, karaoke, etc., but don’t have the space to do it… like having your own big house or enclosed area. Most pinoys live in groups, often staying together in one house with a large family. In that kind of setup, it breaks down any personal boundaries, and that includes people’s sensitivity to noise. You just get used to it… But honestly, not everyone is like that. There are Filipinos who see this as a nuisance, like me. I don’t like it and never will. It just so happens that some people are so used to it because they share small spaces with many others, that noise becomes just another part of life.

I think some things will change in the future, new generations are educated and very much aware of the toxic Filipino mindset and politics but considering the migration/going abroad to seek for better opp. it will take a long time, if we do not have corrupt politicians and voters it will make a difference, gradually. I am a Filipino living abroad for more than 20 years while been travelling quite awhile from Europe to some of the best countries in Asia. In Paris for example while we were in the Eiffel tower area. I saw many policemen with ready to shoot guns as the area itself was not safe for tourists as there a lot of thieves, pickpocketers, scammers etc in the area. Same in Barcelona, Athens, Rome etc. But did I put down these countries and tell people that those are terrible places that anyone should avoid to visit? No, bec every country has its own issues and problems. I've been to Thailand many times, I saw beggars and slum areas in the heart of Bangkok. But did I made noise of those social ills to bringing down the country? No. Why I have to make noise of those negatives if I can enjoy the positive side of it? The only country that I admired the most is Japan. Constructive criticisms are welcome but throwing sh*ts on the country and putting it in a dispecable image is unacceptable!

For even the little western style the problem is everything is imported with high taxes and most important only from big brands that add 50% price just for the name and not for value. But nobody here seem to import the noname products Discounters like ALDI and LIDL are famous for worldwide. Plus so many lazy worthless man in the middle that just drive prices up. If Manila, Makati and BGC is not a representation of the Philippines, so Is New York, Miami and Los Angeles not the face of America? Have you been to the Rustbelt and Bible Belt areas in the US? Can we say too that that is the majority of America? Poverty in the Philippines is 15.5% compared to 11.5% to the US? Poverty in America is not far off from the Philippines. Only problem in the Philippines is the lack of infrastructures.

15.5% poverty in the Philippines is CAP, it's way more than that. US is also quite poor, huge wealth inequality

@@WheresWes not in paper. You may assume that because the Philipppines' of lack of infrastructure .So, the perception is so 3rd world. But, it has improved since. The OFW remittances alone has grown to 20-30 billion $ and the Outsourcing industries have helped a lot in terms of employment among young people.

@@IncognitoXYZ with today's inflation, ask Americans if they do not consider themselves poor. Some retirees are getting back to work because their incomes are not sufficient enough to sustain their basic needs.

I'm shocked that the jealousy factor didn't make the cons. The gossping (marites) is terrible, but if I could change one thing about my asawa, it'd be her craaaaaaazy jealousy.

Yes I've always said that. The number #1 reason why men go to the the Philippines is because of the women next the cost of living. It's not hard to figure that out with all uploaded videos on my youtube feed.

So true!!!, I'm from the Philippines, never travelled yet outside Ph but my sister and mom did as OFWs, and you're right on about what's going on here. The social climbing, materialism, gossiping, poor education are true.

Wes I had ~30 years in the Philippines, so I am qualified to critique. Your summaries are excellent, except I quibble with your belief that most expats would not want to live in the provinces. In fact, go look at the data. The foreign expats are spread out all over the country. Also there are some hidden gems where you can escape the congestion, poor infrastructure and pollution. I am in one of those locations right now and not many foreigners know about it. I prefer to keep it that.
