I love that the last ten minutes of this podcast is them worrying about the storm. I have a fear of escalators. I try to avoid them at the mall and use the stairs or elevator if I can. I’m always afraid I’m gonna trip and fall and hurt my leg on an escalator.

Lucas, I used to throw up for weird specific reasons (like your burger/beef thing) like too much condensation in the shower or being hungry. Turns out it was all anxiety and my brain trying to find a reason for the puking that made sense since I didn’t know I had panic attacks or anxiety and then those situations would cause me to throw up in the future because my brain had already drawn that connection even though it didn’t necessarily exist. Just some food for thought, maybe you relate more than you realize :)

Omg something like this also happened to me. I always thought I hated breakfast because I just didn't like eating in the morning and even just the thought of it made me feel nauseous but it was because when I was younger I would always feel sick/throw up before school because of anxiety

People need to face their fears. I don't really have any phobias; I really hate grasshoppers, but I did grab one once that landed on my dad. We were in a cab of a truck, sitting in a field with windows down, and a grasshopper jumped in . . . !!!!!!! Chewing w/your mouth closed is a skill, and if you cover your mouth when you chew, it looks stupid, like there's something physical deformed about your mouth that you can't close it when you chew.

One time when I was younger we were getting french fries at the Boardwalk and all these seagulls started flying over to us and I got really scared that they were going to attack us and peck our eyes out. Whenever a bird tries to get close to me I always run away

That thing about being "afraid" of certain noises, especially stuff like chewing is called misophonia, I have it and it's awful. Basically it triggers this fight-or-flight response in your brain that drives you to the edge of insanity if you can't immediately get away from the source of the noise. It sometimes extends to visuals associated with the noise, even if there's no sound. It's very poorly understood, it's not in the DSM yet and people aren't sure if it's more psychological or neurological.

Omg I have a fear of bellybuttons too! It’s called Omphalophobia! I can’t believe someone else said that 😂😂😭 I punched my best friend once for jokingly touching my bellybutton. I can’t look at other people touching their bellybuttons, I’ll feel like I am going to faint or throw up. I remember a specific commercial I think for Activia or something where they showed a stomach and there was an animated arrow going around her stomach and I could never watch that commercial cause the arrow looked too much like it was going through her belly button 😂😭😭😭😅 As a kid I remember being scared my belly button would come untied too. usually I’m fine just looking at them from a distance like at the beach and stuff tho. Sometimes I still check behind the shower curtain as a 24 year old 😂😅 not cause I’m actually really scared but it just feels like it’s necessary sometimes at night.😂 I get the train one too. My siblings and I almost got hit by a train once cause the train signal was broken and my step dad also passed away a few years ago from being hit by a train.

Birds have diseases too. As someone who's favorite animal is bats and knowing all about them, how can you call them scary and ugly?? They're innocent and adorable. There's so many different kinds and they all look different! Vampire bats, fruits bats, bats that drink nectar, eat bugs, eat fish, etc and the smallest one , bumblebee bat, is so tiny you should look it up. If you're afraid of bats, go check that out and also fruits bats. That'll ease you into liking them lol
