Yes, unfortunately there is. There are phone apps that are set up to monitor your phone. I changed my phone number and heard through the grapevine that he lost his sh*t! He could no longer keep track of me in any way. My address changed, my email changed, EVERYTHING changed. I'm not on social media. I have peace now.

My brother in law knows I can read him like a book and that I'm onto his mind games. My sister however is totally oblivious like she's under some spell. Anyway one time he asked me in a weird way why he couldn't see my friends list on social media. He doesn't know I specifically went into settings to restrict him from seeing everything unless I make it public. He wants to spy on me. He's very nosy and always asks questions that really should not be any of his business. I've learned he tries to gain as much information as possible so he can later manipulate what you told him and use it against you. I've learned to give him answers that are as vaguely said as possible. Phrases like "I don't know, I'll see" have come in really handy as it allows me to answer him without giving him any specifics. These people are highly toxic, manipulative, jealous and paranoid. It's like he knows I can read him and he wants to know who else I have talked to so that he can gauge whether I said anything about him.

Yes I got spied on. I'm really not that interesting either. It can't be that gratifying. I went no contact and waited a very long time before I returned to the same public places. The narc found out and attempted to impose herself on me again, but I am not controllable. I am resolute about my boundaries. The flying monkeys all know too. I think it reaches the point where the narc loses face if it continues and you have nothing more to lose by pointing it out to other people. The social damage was already done and I know who my friends are and aren't. I've processed it all. Also they just cannot stand it when you're uncontrollable.

This is so true. I have a narsistist friend for years. In the beginning he was a nice man and funny. I loved him..but later on i see things that was not okee. It was scaring..at last he only wants to destroy my life. A narcist don t stop. Untill they have what they want..control you..often angry about nothing..it felt not good anymore. The night it was cloned: We went trick or treating with our kids one night and I couldn’t find my phone anywhere so we left without it. I knew for sure I left it on my bed but it wasn’t there. He was texting someone the entire time (assuming it was the person who WENT INTO MY HOUSE and swapped it while he was out with us.) when we got back home, “my phone” (the cloned phone) was laying on my bed.

The narcissist wife used nearly all these tactics on me. She would go through my closet, safe, and drawers looking for something that she was unfamiliar with to accuse me of receiving gift(s) from a girlfriend. After the divorce, she used the oldest daughter for questioning on who I was dating, if I had women spending the night, and were we having sex. The ex's hatred of me went 10X after the divorce. In her mind, I was not allowed to move on.

I'm on the opposite end where I have to keep an eye on them because I don't trust them to keep their stupidity to themselves for very long. Their lives appear to have gotten substantially worse since I left which I hope is keeping them in check well enough that my concerns are more just cautionary concerns rather than defensive strategy planning.

That could backfire badly. If the narc truly thinks you're wealthy, they will pull out all the crazy stops to get at any money they think you have. The ONLY way to stop them having any influence on your life is to go full no contact wherever possible and move away. Don't tell anyone where you are and if you want to visit trusted family and friends, go to them instead. Say nothing about what you're doing to anyone, even people you trust.

@@livelife5890 No what they do is disconnect my cell from the Wi-Fi here. I have to constantly reconnect because they are targeting my cell. It also causes buffering. I have a vpn now and it’s a lot better but they had been doing this for years before I figured it out. I thought it was the Wi-Fi itself.

The squatter in my house who is abusing me told me that while rummaging through the things on my desk without permission he found my eviction file, so he threatened to sue me for $1 million if I filed it with the court. He further threatened me by saying he knows I'm saying he's stealing from me, but if he wants to steal from me he will just go into my room and help himself to what we both know I'm keeping in there. I don't know where he found out I've said he's stealing from me. Maybe he has spyware monitoring my online activity to stay one step ahead of my attempts to protect myself.

@@kimmonks116 I’m so sorry that you’ve been through that for so long. It looked like a silver circle like a quarter size shaped circle. But all silver and it magnetized to the corner of a wall that jutted out. I also decided to move him out after finding the device and then got rid of everything that he owned by giving it all to his mother whom he moved in with. My life has improved significantly and I’m back to being me again. Cleaning his stuff out was very freeing. Now I also donate a lot of things and keep my house very organized which helps me to enjoy life more. I hope some of this helps. I know the pain of narcissist abuse and I’m very sorry you endured that. No one should have to go through that pain and betrayal. Self love is key 🌺
