The narrator says " Despite their simple lifestyle; people appear to be happy." I would re-word that to "Because of their simple lifestyle; people appear to be happy."

So you know how they feel? What I've experienced here in the Philippines,living in a poor fishing village is that the people are happy because of their simple life style. It your typical western liberal way of thinking and actions is what destroys cultures.

2011 i purchased a motorbike in Luang Prabang and drove more than 2000 km towards the south - All the way on Route 13. My eyes have never seen such beautiful landscapes, experienced such warm hospitality and tasted true happiness not bound to materialism. This is still very clear in my memory. Now 6 years after - I dream of taking the same journey on two wheels. 21:32 the mountains in the North is a BREATHTAKING Route to drive on a motorbike. I Highley recommend it to everyone if they get the opportunity Respect to Laos and the Lao people.

I used to help Hmong and Lao refugees learn English. I also helped them adapt to living in the USA. They are very lovely people. They are also hard working and the Hmong have become excellent organic farmers. I learned to speak, read, write and understand Lao. Many have become my friends. They are my second family. It is sad that the Vietnam War displaced them and they had to find other countries to live in, like the USA. A few would go back to Laos if they could.

I was on a jeep that stopped in a place that wasn't really a place, that sold everything that could be be made from bamboo, and of course, coca cola, and I pissed three thousand feet through clouds into a virgin rain forest.

I’m Montagnard jarai tribe Central highland Vietnam border to Cambodia and Laos when we went to jungle we used to met Laos people they are nice people. Now we can’t go to jungles because all the forest destroyed by Vietnam rubber plantation companies. We lost our Montagnard ancestors land and forest to Kinh Vietnamese immigrant.

The video of this trip, as shown, went from the Capitol City of Vientiane on highway 13 and then went east on highway 7 at the Sala Phou Khoune and then arrive at Phonsavanh, the place where the Plain of Jars is located. However, after that it show that highway 7 wind down to Luang Prabang, which is not true. Highway 7 went toward east toward Vietnam; only highway 13 go to Luang Prabang...

@bijoydasudiya4 жыл бұрын
The US used these montagnards against the Communists because it was difficult for the plainsmen to fight in the rugged mountainous terrain. They used the same technique in the Vietnam. The only war the most powerful nation of the world lost to the local Vietnamese with lesser technology and warfare methods. Even to this day the 2nd most powerful country is funding rebels in the North East India. How the money is exchanged is through sale of drugs or NGOs or maybe even some churches to create insurgency. NSCN, MNF, Kangleipak, Bodo rebels etc.
