Hi, my wife is not accompanying me. Our profile score together was 10 points lesser than my single applicant score because my wife didn't get the bands in IELTS. I had declared that I am married and that my wife will not accompany me. We have no children neither is my wife pregnant. We are both working in India in our respective companies. I have received the ITA. But what should be the single line answer to the question "Why is your spouse not accompanying you to Canada?" in the profile questionnaire?

I read that a spouse can get open work permit till their sponsor visa process is going on. Please throw light on this or it would be very helpful if you can make a video for the same. Hi Sitanshu, Thanks for sharing this video. I applied for PR without an accompanying spouse. I am planning to take the following courses of action to apply for my spouse PR. Please advise if my approach is correct, or it needs some correction - Once I get PR and land in Canada, after a couple of months I will call my wife on visitor's visa and then apply for Inland PR for her along with an open work permit. By the time her PR is processed atleast, she will be able to stay along with me. I understand that the visitor's visa is valid for only 6 months, but we can extend the visa or apply for the fresh one. Let me know if the above plan is feasible. Your suggestions are always welcome.

The procedure is similar in that you would have to provide a reason for your spouse not accompanying. There is an additional document to submit when you receive the Invitation to Apply along with all the other information. This document is signed by your spouse before a notary public indicating that your spouse consents to your application for PR for the children.
