Express VAC2 triplex machine room

Dad started his career with Express with relay logic and worked with it for years. A few years before he retired the new electronic stuff came in and he took it in his stride. I remember the boards sitting in his office to be either fitted or sent back to Northampton to be fixed. No tweaking a relay contact to get things working with this new technology.

I remember these with great fondness, the Express "C" machine, probably the best geared machine made by Express Lifts. Then there were the next ones up, the "D" machines followed by the gearless. The "C" machines were originally fitted with Bull motors when used as 2 speed units but then changed to Ziel Arbeg motors for VAC operation.
