I am picking up my Gen 2 Extar Wednesday! I have 2 Gen 1s. Thousands of rounds ZERO malfunctions. BEST VALUE IN THE GUN INDUSTRY PERIOD! Just to wind people up, let me say it is better than a semi auto MP5 suppressed. Lighter, better trigger, Glock mags, AR grips, LRBHO, totally closed rear side charger so no face full of gas. $449.00. Optic to run? Primary arms w/Vulcan reticle. Please just take the opportunity to have fun with it. It is a hoot.

The thing that prevented me from getting one of these previously were the number of upgrades I'd have to make, which made the cost equivalent to other offerings. Now I have to get one! Just took mine to the range last week for the first time. Man is it a fun shooter. Recoil has a good initial jolt but is soft on the sholder, which is awesome considering how the Gen 2 brace is very thin. My wife and I had a blast with it and it ran Tula steel, and winchester brass fmj and hollow points perfectly. Remember: extar doesn't recommend reloads, aluminum cased, or +p ammo. Also careful of Norma because they are using thinner primers and they are prone to blow out on this guy. So a bit ammo sensitive but all in all, I'd say it's a great deal for this one. Looking forward to the range review!

1. Muzzle (flash can) what is the OD ? 2. Muzzle (flash can) over all length? Also is it really just a flash can to help displace gas forward and minimize recoil? Is the opening actually large. I am interested in adding a muzzle something that has the same outside diameter to keep the same look of the gun yet stretch the barrel out another 4 inches or so, for better further out accuracy.
@GBGuns

Adding a flash can will not change accuracy or your ability to hit at distance. All a flash can does it help direct sound forward, control muzzle flash to some extent, and provide some visual appeal.

I personally dont think EXTAR doesn't get the Credit they deserve. I myself love the ETAR EP9 I just wish I wasn't "a poor" and obviously a pathetic useless loser that could afford the low valued price of the Extar. which outside of HiPoint is the cheapest priced PCC on the market especially with the features you get with the EP9

@@GBGuns I've seen conflicting info on this. Some are made in China, some are rebranded Vortex, some are made in the Philippines, and some are assembled and/ or made in the USA (military contracts). Either way, I've had good experiences with Sig so far.

I think if someone can afford to wear it out they can probably ably afford to replace it.

It's kind of like the AR barrel coating arguments. People want to debate which lasts longer so they can decide if they're going ot spend 40-50 dollars more. If you can afford to wear out an AR barrel you can afford to replace it!
