From the Extar website: "The EP9 has a proprietary receiver extension (buffer tube) that only accepts some SB Tactical Pistol Braces. The compatible braces are the SB-Mini, SBL, SBM4, SOB, SBX-K, or the SBV." The SB Tactical SOB is what they provide with the EP9, already installed.

Josh, you do a good job in your videos on the Extar EP9 and I enjoy shooting mine also The only problems I had were failure to feed instances caused by weak after market springs in some mags I bought. Since Wolff extra power springs are on back order, I simply stretched the mag springs and have had no problems since then. My wife prefers her AR9 16" barreled rifle because she can get more accuracy while shooting at 100 yards. Live long and free!

From the Extar FAQ : Please avoid Ruag ammunition including their brands Norma and Geco. They are now using thin primers that will cause problems in direct-blowback firearms. We recommend that our customers only use brass cased or steel cased ammunition from name brands in your EP9. Due to the direct blowback design of the EP9, always avoid aluminum cased and reloaded/re-manufactured ammunition. For economical and reliable performance, Tula Steel Cased ammo through genuine Glock magazines, we recommend highly. We do not recommend +P ammunition.

@MolnarPohdap3 жыл бұрын
There's a KZbin video about someone trying the 50 round drum on the EP9. His conclusion: it works, but only about 80% of the time. That must be why the Extar website specifically recommends using nothing more than a 33 round mag. As for Extar being out of stock: they restock in small quantities once a week, but at unpredictable days and times. It's best to sign up for their email notifications, then to check your email for these as often as you can every day (except weekends). Extar told me that they always sell out within an hour, even just half an hour, every time -- so you have to jump on it. I created an account with them on their website, entering my address etc ahead of time to speed up the purchase process when the time came.

*Caution* Extar EP9 received with a broken hammer. I contacted customer service which is a joke. They replied, "we don't have this happen". Sold thousands without this problem. News flash... that doesn't take away the fact that I have a broken weapon. I waited patiently for a gun that is usually out of stock. Finally ordered and when it arrived it rattled inside. Gun dealer opened it up to find that the hammer was actually broken into. Extar customer service would not help the situation at all. I was going to have around 500.00 to 550.00 in a 400.00 weapon after the time it took to correct their mistake. Usually, customer service would try to help the situation by offering something for my trouble. Nope, not this company. Not even a 35.00 charging handle. Just an idea, which she couldn't even come up with herself. Anne is her name for future reference. She actually got upset with me when I suggested that they should compensate me for their mistake. Her response was, "we can't just start issuing checks". I didn't even ask for anything imparticular. I wanted to warn someone of this bad bad customer service. The sad thing is that I really wanted the gun. It would have been fun and probably worth the 400.00, but not 550.00.

Great commentary and review, but the camera was blurry and painfully out of focus in almost ever shot...also too much extream zooming in, other than that great vid👍

We have invested in a Gimble. We used it in the EP45 review (coming out this week)

Nice. I'm not a member but I go there as a guest with a buddy sometimes.

sweatmachine69 Yeah my older brother lives in Manor so we go there when I go see him. It's pretty awesome!

joshv06 Cool. I live in Austin not far from there. I bought a Guntec 9mm brake from y'all a couple of months ago, right when you first got them in. This new Extar 9mm is interesting. I have an AR9 I built and also a CMMG Guard. I'm happy with them but they both cost a lot more than the Extar...

That is a good price

Can you change the handguard
@joshv065 жыл бұрын
Not possible
@vbsaltydog4 жыл бұрын
It's possible now. I make an m-lok handguard for the Extar EP9. You can see it at www.protoshandguard.com/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=extar-ep9-protos-mlok-handguard . If you click the "see larger image" button on the page, you can see it mounted on the pistol.

This. I ditched my AR9 soley for the weight savings of this. It is incredibly lightweight

Best steel cased ammo I've tested. Works fine. Accurate. Consistent. Cheap.

@@joshv06 cheap yeah. It's dirty as hell. I used it for a long time till I knew better. Only use steel case in the commie guns now. But in all honesty, I never had a problem with it, just heavy fouling

Great video but for the love of God, use a smaller aperture and get rid of the horrendous focus issues. A blurry background does not equal a high quality video. Also stick with auto exposure.
@joshv065 жыл бұрын
I agree. I'm going to do less zooming and more b-roll in the future.
