They do sell internationally though. @Wooden, do you know how much your leaves weigh? Have your swiveling extension bars been able to support the leaves without sagging? Gorgeous work!

Thanks, appreciate you kind words. I estimate each leave weights about 10kg. Yes, sagging was not necessary. If you take heavier lumber that might change. But elm is not crazy heavy...

@@MyNameIsThoms That should not be too difficult to do, if the table is large enough so you can ensure that there is enough space between the legs. But I didn't do it for this project...

This is a great video and amazing table.. I have just finished building my own table, constructed out of 120 year old wood that was part of my house here in the UK. Table is 155cm by 88cm. I have been looking round doing loads of research as I want to be able to extend to a square table (I155cm by 155cm). After a silly amount of video's I think this one could help!! Thanks so much, the only question I have is the extenders from Layer, which I am going to order now via email. Do you think they will support a large side extension to the table (155x 68cm)? Just thought I would ask as you have used the product, it would be a massive help. Thanks Pete

Regarding your question: No, these swiveling arms won‘t hold such a large extension. I once tried it with 70cm extensions and it was too much, too heavy. I would recommend you to split the extension in two pieces 34cm and extend the table on both ends instead. That could work. Have fun! Javier

I have contacted them including their UK office and they are asking if I have an account and can only purchase if I have an account with them. Plus saying the order needs to be over £500 UK!! Anything you could do would be amazing.

@@petebaker8452 Oh wow - what a bummer! 500? What the hell! I also just checked their website, and they removed the UK from the list they usually deliver to. The only thing I can think of would be for you to order two pairs and send them to my address in Germany. That won't cost you any shipping. I can then send them to your address in the UK, which will certainly cost some shipping fee. Plus, given you are no longer part of the EU, there might be custom fees you have to pay when receiving the package. No idea how high your VAT is. I can only guess that if they would send this to you directly, you still would have to pay the customs fee.

What holds the leaves tight to the table

The turning by 45 degrees barely “unscreews” the arms, hence they stay tight

Ah. You move out the swiveling arms half way, then put the board on it. then extend the arms completely

The Brand is "MEYER", and the hardware is called "Schwenkauszug" (thats German). I spent some time looking for it outside of the German speaking countries, but I did not find them. If you are not successful and ok with some waiting, I can order one for them and bring it to the US. I travel a lot for work there. Then I can ship them to you. I will travel to Nashville this weekend, but there is not enough time to order them. Next planned trip is around mid March. I will also send the company an e-mail asking if they ship to the US.@@maryanne.8624

Man, I live in Switzerland. The shipping would be ridiculous. It will be much cheaper for you to look fo a local woodworker to create it. It’s not a difficult project so you shouldn’t have problems finding someone...
