Well the first United goal can be argued, but there's no denial United were the better & more hungrier side in this game and they deserved the win. On the other hand, City lacked intent for going forward. There's no use of 60-70% possession if you have just one shot on target. And as soon as City were losing the ball, United were in for dangerous counters. Pep needs to be less afraid of losing possession & attack more direcly instead of just passing sideways.

Goal was NOT offside. The law is really clear on this and Rashford was not interfering with play according the laws that were revised a couple of years ago. It's irrelevant how you or anyone feels about it, if professional footballers on hundreds of thousands of quid a week can't be bothered to read over the FA's laws about offside(or pay someone to explain it to them) then they have no right to complain when they get punished for it. Same goes for the legions of dimwitted pundits like Chris Sutton. Do your job: read the rules. Stop pretending this was some kind of outrageous decision when the law's been in place for years now.

However Walker who was meant to cover Bruno was clearly holding the line with Akanji to keep Rashford offside. if anything this proves that the game still lacks so much consistency when it comes to VAR because it never takes into account the moment in the game and is entirely based on FACT. a) Was Rashford offside? yes b) Did he touch the ball? no Therefore it is a goal. I really don't like that approach from VAR. They need to consider the impact of Rashfords movements.

@@rammus5672 It's clearly a subjective call and VAR would leave it to the on field referees decision. The reality is, no Manchester City player got to the ball first or was blocked by Rashford from doing so. Keeper was out to cover an offside player? Even if the keeper didn't know Rashford was offside, the onfield players clearly knew by your argument so that's a communication mistake between the players.

Akanji "The Generous" suffered a total brain-freeze-crampup (seconds after the ball ricocheted off his head!), just standing still while Rashford also, stood behind him, who then graciously received the ball, and tapped it into the net. I'm from Morocco, I don't care who wins, but that is 100% offside. Rashford interfered with play, defenders weren't fully committed, especially the ones who let Rashford step beyond the offside line. It's just crazy to me that FIFA hasn't figured out yet the best way to handle offsides with clear cut and dry rules.

Well reason i believe it is a fair goal is because the defender that was in there to tackle was on fernandes left side. (the opposite side of rashford) akanji (the defender behind rashford was 4 meters behind bruno when the goal was scored. Therefore the defender that was behind rashford had no way in hell to reach that ball because he was 4 meters behind when the shot was shot. Therefore rashford was not interfering with the play, even though he stopped up close to the ball.
