Criterium or Crit is the equivalent to F1, usually around the center of town. I saw them in different towns and cities in California during the 80's and 90's...very fast and fun!

TdF has copied the concept from the Giro d'Italia. In 2015, they had a stage finish at the Imola F1 circuit.

Its clear they saw what the F1 is doing for years with their Highlights and wanted to do something similar. But they improved the Format as well. It is so good that they include the different storylines really brings it to another level!

Everybody applauds the editing and yes, well done. But the organisers of the race put the riders at a huge risk with the sprint finish inside such a narrow circuit. Hope this does not happen again as much as I like excitement at the end, adding another element of danger is not necessary.
