The Great Wan Bissaka doing his job of staying invisible
@basiccomputing0022 ай бұрын
Bruvva, the coach was playing a 3-5-3 formation. Wan Bissaka was being played as a wingman not a right back. He is not that type of player. He is a typical defender. Coufal plays 3-5-3 better since he is more attacking minded.

John Clair Todibo gotta play . Dinos( who i defended alot) its not up to the task. Let us judge Loppyafter 10 games. The great Leverkusen of today were in utter shambles when Xabi Alonso took over the team. But look how he has transformed them. The next two games against Brentford and Ipswich Town is a must win and a no brainer. With six points from those games West ham will have 10 points from 7 games which is not bad for a team in transition. Loppy get the job down

@@KeepingIt-vi9xv Like I said...he will need squad overhaul and time... Potter built Brighton... Go and check where Brighton was in 2020 when they appointed him, and where Brighton was in 2023 when he left for Chelsea.
@bigp50522 ай бұрын
@@wisdomnzube4121lol Potter didn’t build Brighton, their directors did, they scout and buy the players and managers, Potter didn’t have any say every manager they hired after potter was better than potter otherwise they’d have gone back for him when Zerbi left. He’s decent but he’s not the sole reason Brighton played well. Their system enables employment of talent all round like Chelsea and also supports continuity even when managers leave. Every manager comes in and plays Brighton’s system not every manager comes in and Brighton plays their system
@wisdomnzube41212 ай бұрын
@@bigp5052 Potter came to Brighton when they were looking as if they will be relegated.. I remember watching their games that season, it was a pity...when Chelsea played them under Lampard. By the time Tuchel was about to be sacked by the new owners, Potter had made Brighton solid, playing good football...United fans wanted him to come, English pundits were all clapping, praising Brighton football....then he left for Chelsea after the window closed.... Brighton were 5th in the table... De Zerbi might be better than him, but De Zerbi rode on the work done by Potter that season, the next session, Caicedo, McAllister left.. De Zerbi couldn't replicate it... because he had to build a team. Even the English fans wanted Potter to replace Southgate then. Graham Potter built Brighton...on the pitch.

This is what has happened with Michail Antonio over the past several years. When David Moyes first arrived at the football club, he assessed the playing squad and came to the conclusion that it lacked pace up top, balanced attacking play, and physicality in midfield. Because of this, David Moyes ensured that he improved the running stats of the side and used the first transfer window to bring in players and re-jig the squad. Moyes did this by selling two assets at a cut price (Haller and Anderson) in order to invest in a physically dominant central midfielder in Tomáš Souček and a naturally left-footed, inverted winger in Jarrod Bowen. He then transformed Michail Antonio into a central forward. Since that time, Antonio has offered runs in behind, outstanding hold-up play, and has become the top goal scorer in the club's Premier League and European history. I would argue that Antonio could have scored more if it wasn’t for from the fans, leading to incorrect decisions being made. This initially started when we qualified for Europe for the second time under Moyes. The club, rightly so, brought in another center-forward in Scamacca. We then started the Premier League season relatively slowly that year, although I feel it was overstated. Then there was a clamor to bring Scamacca into the side for Antonio. This decision resulted in us lacking pressing and intensity, which caused us to struggle to pick up points in the league. Though we were handling our European campaign well, our league form suffered to the point where we found ourselves near the relegation zone, all due to the lack of pressing and intensity. Once Antonio was brought back into the side, not only did our league form improve, but we also won our first European trophy in almost 50 years. Antonio is already the highest goal scorer in European and Premier League history for West Ham United. I would argue that this could have been even more if Moyes hadn’t opted to play Scamacca during that season, as well as making other selection choices. I remember witnessing games where Antonio was not being selected due to a fallout with Moyes and thinking to myself that Antonio would have made the difference. Nottingham Forest at home clearly stands out as a game that Antonio would have turned a draw into a win. The following season, last season, Michail Antonio started exceptionally well. He was leading the line, which resulted in us beating some good-quality Premier League sides early on. However, I feel that there was a selection issue in November that affected Antonio’s form. Moyes was adamant about playing James Ward-Prowse, which resulted in Lucas Paquetá being pushed to the left midfield to accommodate him. This hampered Antonio’s form as he became even more isolated as a lone center-forward. Later that season, Antonio got injured on international duty. He returned and slowly started to regain his fitness and intensity, initially contributing 30 to 40 minutes, then eventually 50 to 60 minutes. By the time we reached the Leverkusen game at home, he seemed to be back to his best. Antonio is still the best center-forward at West Ham. We should be playing him up top with two inverted wingers on either side (Bowen and Summerville), with Kudus playing as the number 10. This is a very similar model to when we had Jesse Lingard on loan and were at our best. We now have better players in all areas of the field, and we should be looking to recreate this model with the new group of players. Michail Antonio is still the best center-forward at this club. He is the strongest, the quickest, will win the most one-on-one duels against center-backs, and will open up space for other attacking players. He is also the most proven center-forward we have at Premier League level. We would be foolish not to recreate the model I just mentioned.

@damiandamico47152 ай бұрын
It's that liiiiiiiiiine 😩😩😩😩 If you cant find the answers in this side, there's a huge, huge problem. Every single goal is so easily avoidable. Bowen, Nobes, have a word with him, gents. The answers are there. Go back to basics, West Ham. Go back to Villa at home last season and use those pressing patterns again. Make it more expansive by altering the clientele. Play Paqueta as the left sided 8 next to Alvarez. Kudus as the 10. Summerz and Jaz inverted wingers. MA up top. Tomas first man off the bench in either an attacking or a defensive context. AWB, Kilman and Summerville added to that immediately improve us. Add those 3 to what we did against Villa last season at home and you have a top 6 side, possibly more. The template was there last season once Moyes got over his love affair with JWP. I'm telling you, Villa at home last season was the best example of what we should be doing this season, then make it more expansive by playing Paqueta deeper, Kudus as the 10 and having Summerz as a naturally inverted LWer. Then Tomas as a situational player, whether its locking up shop and playing next to Alvarez or as an attacking sub, playing higher up, if were forced to go more direct. Jarrod; talk to this guy, man. Pleaaaaase. Moyes's problem was never really coaching, it was recruitment. The talent is theeere. Not getting the best out of this side would be a travesty. 🙏 Lopetegui, sit down with Nobes, Bowen and possibly Alvarez, go and watch us vs Villa at home last season and make note of how we played that game. Shift Paqueta back as the left sided 8. Shift Kudus over to the 10. Summerville as the LWer. Kilman and AWB to come in to improve the back 4. Copy and paste the pressing patterns from that game. That was the best version of us last season and Summerville, AWB and Kilman give us the opportunity to play around with things and become both more dynamic and solid. Go back to that game, change it slightly so Paq is the left sided 8 next to Alvarez, bring Kudus off the left into the 10 and play Summerville in the spot vacated by Kudus. Max to start. AWB to start. Tom as the first man off the bench to either sure up midfield if were closing a game or come in and play higher up if we need to go more direct if we should ever need to chase a goal. Simple. Sureley between the likes of Nobes and Bowen we can make sense of that of that and get that going. #COYI

Lopetegui, go and watch Villa at home last season. Move around some of the personnel. Add some of the new boys. Copy and paste the pressing patterns. Top 6.. Minimum. #COYI
