You're exactly right the Motel 6 I stayed at you couldn't stay there over 30 days because you become a resident we had to leave 4 days and then come back I lived 8 years in a motel October 2006 through March 2014 I know the game they play I lived 8 years in a motel Extended Stays can do that Motel 6 has cannot so extended stayamerica are lying to her... thank God they allowed her to stay.

At Extended Stay America Roseville California they accepted criminals coming out of jail with motel vouchers I met one his name was David he thought it was funny we had to pay full motel room rate while he just got out of prison and got motel vouchers at the Extended Stay Roseville this was 2009

Apartments probably won't take her because she may have broken her lease when she lost her job and apartments/rental homes want recent pay stubs which she wouldn't have since she wasn't working and then there's the daycare/transportation issue. The hotel was in fear of losing business by trying to deny that lady further business when she was trying to pay them so her/her daughter had a place to stay. People pay them to stay there/they half ass fix repairs and have nasty attitudes like rental properties. To a person that don't have anywhere to live, where ever they lay their head can be home to them. Even if you have a house or apartment all it takes is a natural disaster, pandemic or loss of job for you not to have a home.

So before you automatically judge me. I didn't have an eviction. I lost my home in natural disaster in Tx. And lost my job of 4 years doing the pandemic. I moved back to Atlanta. But no housing was available due to the pandemic. So the safest place I could find was a extend that we been here since February is.. yes, I know how much it is 2400 a month. That I been paying with out until my saving , severance ran out. 2 bedroom apt is about 1600-1700 and you add lights, gas, etc. I'm at the same. There no property available because people are stuck in their homes. And if so I was doing better where we are at. Another people assume and judge me. It was hard as hell , and still is yo had to air this on tv. I was good. Until I saw cbs46 posted this video online today. I'm just depressed and embarrassed all over again. Smdh.

We escaped from Tx( blackout ), the first , fastest , and safest place I could find was here. There is a major housing shortage in ATL. Homes for rent is super high, and because of eviction crisis they're looking for 3 times rent and deposits. I started a gofundme account. But was soo embrassed to put it out there. I literally didn't want to reach out to anyone, because people are so crude, judgmental. So what happened to the unemployment, with the add ons, the stimulus and child support for 8 months? At one point, they were giving almost $1,000 dollars a week. Also, there are one bedroom apartments in Atlanta that are 1/4 to half the price of an extended stay in Alpharetta. Not as ritzy as where she's staying but could have been a stepping stone for preservation. She's lucky she's a woman because a man would have been held to a different standard for sure.

That why I had to used my 401k, severance ( from good paying job of 4 yrs) and any remaining savings. Hoping that was going to be worked out in the 8 months since I was forced to moved from Texas, after the blackout Natural disaster in tx. I HAVENT GOTTEN CHILD support for my daughter since February. 😔 . I was told several times by enforcement, they can't find an employer for her father. Would you like his number so you can call him, and ask why his child's mother had to ask the community for resources for help? Good luck with that. He doesn't communicate or see his daughter and he lives her in Ga. If you can find us a safe 2 bedroom Apt or house, in this "CURRENT HOUSING MARKET and crisis that my total over head is less than 2400. Please forward that information to me. Because I been looking since February. My daughter just start back in school in August. I had to at least wait for that. Before even accepting a job offer, Because guess what genius, I can't afford child care. Btw, my Stimulus went towards our living situations. BTW in ga, no one is getting a $1000 a month in Unemployment. The max is 365 plus 300 on top until June 26, which I still haven't gotten since losing my job the end of last year. Look for a program that is helping people who lost their job or home , or both doing pandemic, it's part of the Cares Act. You do have shown proof of your employment and separation notice or later. Or be getting unemployment. I never got Unemployment. But shown my separation letter and my disaster letter from the Red Cross( because we also lost our home in a disaster at the same time). I wish you the best . Hit back, I would love to help find some resources too.

You have to get approved by the state to even house section 8 the state has to come in an approve the home for section 8 residents as a matter of fact people do not like section 8 for that very reason you have to meet some strict requirements to even be able to accept a section 8 government check . Everybody is entitled these days an it's freaking sad . They did not want to except a section 8 check at a hotel so she called the news OMG 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I have seen it all now!

So I'm the young lady in the story, and I'm seriously confused about your comment. This has nothing do with section 8. 🙄. I been saying here 8 months paying on my own. No help from any government. When we was displaced( due to national disaster in another state ). This was the quickest and safe place I found for us. The housing market is limited and super high, no matter where you live out. This is because the housing crisis. This is facts. It so sad that you needed to Troll and shame me, for asking my community for resources to help us. 😔. It's already has made me feel very low, depressed and shamed 😔 to even had to go tweet the reporter for help. I'm sorry if you are one of the lucky ones that didn't get affect in anyway by this on- going pandemic. Kudos to you not needing 👏 any help. This single mother does.

Anybody who lives paycheck to paycheck can't afford to stay where they live. That's why we finance cars, rent homes, and have a mortgage. Because we can't afford it or pay in full. If you work for someone, you can't afford to stay where you live. If you can get fired for missing work, showing up late, and can't have a no calls no show, you can't afford to live where you live. So please pipe down because you are a paycheck away from losing it all as well. Question how do you know so much about section 8??? Either you are a recipient or a former recipient either way you should just be quiet on this one.
