About the Topic
Damir will share with us his extensive knowledge and expertise in the mobile video gaming industry, focusing on the extension of the life expectancy of the video game. For doing business in this very competitive area where new amazing products are launched virtually every day it is very important to keep a successful video game living and generating revenues for as long as possible. The workshop will focus on the successful long-lasting MMO & F2P titles with a large user base after 5+ years and the methods that were used to make them stand viable for such a long time. That includes specifics like user acquisition strategies through the different phases of growth, dealing with changes in technology, and maintaining the brand consistency while dealing with licensing outside the game, maintaining players and fans' expectations, etc.

About the speaker
With over 25 years spent in game industry and credited for over 100 games across 20 different platforms, Damir is one of the most experienced industry professionals in Canada. Born and raised in Croatia, he started his career in the mid 80's as a programmer creating proprietary games for the MSX and Commodore Amiga. The next couple of years, he spent in broadcasting; producing and hosting a live TV show devoted to video games and computer technology. In 1995, he started a video game magazine where he worked as the editor. In 1999, he moved to Canada and continued his professional career as a lead programmer, first in Sandbox Studios and later in Digital Illusions Canada. 15 years ago, he established Big Blue Bubble, which became one of the best known and highest rated mobile and handheld game developers in North America.
