04.23.2022 | 2:26 AM | SAN DIEGO - San Diego Fire-Rescue along with The California Highway Patrol responded to a vehicle rollover accident on the I-805 just near Home Ave.
Upon arrival, First Responders encountered a solo vehicle accident with a Lexus sedan on its roof.
The female driver of the Lexus was pinned inside the vehicle and was not responsive after striking the right shoulder guardrail causing her vehicle to flip onto its roof.
Firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” along with other equipment to try and extricate the woman from the vehicle.
It took approximately 40 minutes to free the woman from the vehicle.
She was transported to a local trauma center with major injuries.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the incident.

I was passenger of DUI. I could get out but had a neck injury. 911 told me not to move. On stretcher they move me to ambulance. They ask my health. I told them I had a broken foot. We'll determine that at hospital. The 2nd EMT Flips up blanket with this one is already broken. I had a fractured foot before the accident. At hospital ER doctor yell, Seriouly!?! This on is already broken. I was on vacation. I returned home in thomas collar, arm in sling, boot cast. People at airport were definitely curious. What happen to the other guy? @@KM-nj3cm As a former EMT and now a trauma nurse, the position of her left foot (laying flat and considerably shorter than the right foot which is oriented up and in the correct position) is indicative of a femur fracture. In a surprising thing is the real knowledge that they need to survive and work in the field you don't get in a classroom. That's why it's so important for the older generation to pass down that knowledge. I worked as a paramedic for over 20 years. I walked out a schooling and took my national exam for licensure and passed it with flying colors. And then when I got in the field and actually started working that's when my education truly began. Absolutely no two calls are the same and you always learn and I was learning up until the day I retired

My heart goes out to all first responders, who are always there on the road when accidents happen trying to save lives. They do a phenomenal job which are under appreciated by the state and their cities, more importantly, by the governor that doesn’t care how many first responders are always working unnecessarily if people were more responsible when driving. So sad though, very sad that these first responders never get a brake. They deserve to have a very high salary for the job they do; But, unfortunately, they are underpaid by the same governor they work for. It is horrible, tragic, and disappointing. Again, my heart goes to all of them. THANK YOU TO ALL FIRST RESPONDERS! You are heroes in my book. 🙏👍👍👌👌🙌🙌

Those Lexus 2nd generation 2IS sedans are very well built. I had a similar catastrophic car crash on the 805 freeway back in 2020. I was driving a 2012 is350 and a excessively speeding Mercedes lost control and swiped me and sheered the driver side of the car and threw me to the side of the freeway. I got myself out the car unscathed and without a scratch or bruise

That has hit at high speed to do that much damage but the Lexus held up pretty good you could still open the door and look like the fire wall has held up pretty well airbags helped a lot to save her . All the best .

Amazing getting the driver a life out of this wreck. This can't be a 50km accident. Kudo's for those brave man and woman that were at the scene helping this woman out of the wreck.
