Wow. It’s honestly shocking at how many tests were available to you that the other REs weren’t willing to do. Weird! Anyway, I feel such positive vibes from you and from this clinic. I had an HSG done last summer. The HSG procedure itself was not painful, but with the way my uterus is tilted, I had to maneuver into a position that caused me to dislocate my SI joint, which was extremely painful. Thankfully, a few visits with the chiropractor, over 6 weeks or so, got me back in order, but I thought I’d share the “side effect” I experienced. It’s so awesome to see you excited again about your RE team. Wishing you so much luck!!

In my area it's not very common I live in a small town and most people don't deal with infertility and so I have to drive awhile to my fertility clinic. Good luck! I just had an HSG. It is different for everyone but I took ibuprofen and CBD oil before so I was very relaxed. I felt the tube going in, felt like a paps scrape and that's it. Later that afternoon I felt some cramping and discomfort, but no worse than a period. The next day I felt fine and we baby danced twice the next day since I knew I was about to ovulate. I hope your HSG goes smoothly also.

I am livid that my OB is just now wanting to send me for a second opinion at a specialist. I have been fighting since before getting pregnant with my son 3 years ago. @@missld6856 I have been pre-diabetic for years, and the new doctor started me on Metformin. And honestly I’m surprised that no one had ever suggested it before. I got pregnant December 2020, and had my son Aug 2021. At birth I found out he has Down syndrome. So that’s been awhole nother journey. Before getting pregnant my insurance changed and I had no choice but to change doctors, and the doctor who delivered my son is amazing. Ultimately I decided to have a hysterectomy. I am saddened by this, only because I hadn’t even turned 30 yet at the time. But with al the problems I’ve had, I feel it was best. I wish you the best on your journey. ❤️

I just had an HSG on Monday. I was sooo nervous because I had heard horror stories ha. But my doctor gave me a Xanax to take beforehand. I also took 1000mg of tylenol and 800mg of ibuprofen beforehand ha. I was prepared. With all that it wasn’t bad. Not super fun but definitely tolerable. I can’t wait to see your rainbow baby. 🌈 ❤️

I'm surprised you haven't done an HSG before. Both fertility clinics I went to required it as part of the basic infertility work-up prior to treatment. I didn't find it painful at all. It reminded me of a pap smear - lots of weird sensations and pressure, but no pain. Good luck! You're getting so close! I can feel it.

Yay!! Rainbow baby ahead! I definitely feel your enthusiasm for answers on your losses. We're going on our second retrieval in October after our 1st IVF ended in early loss at 6 weeks and our other 4 embryos did not make it to freeze. Definitely pgs testing and freezing out next embryos before a possible early next year transfer We've been on this road for a very long time. Possibly doing an ERA before another tranfer. Still not 100% on that. Go 🌈👶!! Prayers sent your way!

IMO, the hysteroscopy "hurt" more than the HSG because it was a slower process. The HSG is over very quickly, but the hysteroscopy takes more time with navigating through the cervix and then looking at every inch of the uterus. I mean, they both suck but YOU'LL BE FINE! Loved watching this update! We’re at the same crossroads, new RE (within the past year) and already gearing up to start IVF #5 this week (#3 with this clinic). I know what you’re thinking, 3 rounds with this one and no answers? But this clinic has found that I not only have Hashimoto’s but also DOR. Maybe both developed since working with the other RE, but my other RE never took me seriously when I knew something was wrong after having 5 losses. So excited to be doing a different protocol this time that I suggested and thoroughly researched. My RE is even choosing to take my case to his monthly meeting where all of the clinic doctors (in several states) throw ideas at one another. If this doesn’t work we’ll be looking into donor eggs but this is our last ditch effort to have another biological baby. Nervous yet hopeful, and I can’t wait until we both are finally where we need to be....pregnant and staying that way! ❤️

Thank you for sharing your experience! You mentioned the astronomical cost. I know so much of the coverage is employer-dependent as well as state-to-state, but are there organizations/initiatives you can recommend to check out and/or support that advocate for mandated more comprehensive coverage for infertility and female reproductive issues (state or federal)? I live in Illinois where we have state-mandated infertility insurance coverage, which is amazing, but realizing that that's a huge exception and not at all the rule in the US, makes me want to get involved to change these issues! No one should have to experience the financial burden you've been through for a health issue!

On the HSG note, I agree that pain tolerance plays a huge part! Mine hurt but like a really intense cramp for 15 seconds or so then some light cramps the rest of the day but I just gritted my teeth through it and then I was fine. I was terrified going in but honestly it wasn't too bad. 🤞 on all the tests and I hope you get answers soon!

I did genetic testing for my embryos and found out lot of them were abnormal. I have been following you and our journeys are almost same. Had 3 miscarriages and 5 years into infertility. After genetic testing result doctor said this could be the reason for your miscarriages- many abnormal embryos. Hence the spontaneous miscarriages. It’s a financial stretch but trust me it’s worth.

Thank you for all the information. I hope you will find answers from all this testing. I have to also go through a lot of these tests, immune/clotting, hysteroscopy, ERA and more. We have had 2 back to back FET'S with 4 embryos that have been BFN. I can imagine the fear of thawing, testing and refreezing your embryos. Hopefully all will go well with the PGS testing and the majority will be normal. No clinic in our country will test already frozen embryos so if we need to do PGS, we will have to do another full IVF cycle.

I had to have an HSG test after me and my husband couldn't get pregnant for a long time and after the test I had a successful IUI. The test did hurt me...A LOT....However it's a super fast test and within minutes it was over and I was instantly completely fine so you will be just fine and who knows maybe it will even help!!! I’m so glad you are getting an hsg! That’s how I found out I had hydrosalpinx and am healing from my laproscopy to remove my tube. Every story is different!!
