There are three parts to an External Lightning Protection system, they are: 1. Air Terminations (lightning rods) 2. Down Conductors (connection from the lightning rod to earth) 3. Earth termination system The size and depth of the earth termination system depends on many factors. But the key objective is to reach a preferred earth resistance which has been calculated to suit the installation. Hope we answered your question. Thanks

If a climber is on a cell tower ehen it gets hit by lightning will he die or no ? Is there anything tower climbers can do to protect themselves from lightning ?
