Nice,.but is there ONE Hawaiian who really takes advantage of the climate and has large cichlids or small choice cichlids in outdoor tanks with lush water plants? Ponds of Arowana? All I see are guppy keepers. Don't Discus also do well in Hawaii? Same for Japanese aquarists. I never see their youtube vids even if the hobby is mostly natural plant tanks heavy. Oh the list of fish I could keep in Hawaii..loaches,Angels..Altums..so much.

Hello Stan. You are indeed an Observer! There must be people in Hawaii who raises the fish you mentioned in tubs or ponds. A lot of people here raise Japanese Koi in thier ponds. I see Discus raised in indoor tanks with water heaters. I've never raised Discus, but could imagine that they need some tender care. Yes, you would be able to do so much if you lived here. Hello Amaze. Orlos is correct. The weather here is pretty stable thoughout the year. If the water does get too warm from the hot sun, I would place brinks around the tub to block the sunlight.
