A great walk down memory lane, Peter. Some VERY old family history! I spent the first 18 months of life living on Synge St, just across the road and a few doors down from St. Kevin’s where I was baptized. We later moved to Phibsborough to be closer to my mother’s people. Dad, a Southsider born in 1910, entered the world around the corner in Grantham Place. His house still stands. I laughed at you touching The Spire in the middle of O’Connell Street. Sixty years ago at the same location I did likewise, but to Nelson’s Pillar, a few years before Horatio lost his head in the explosion. An uncle sent a fist-sized piece of the granite to us in the States as a souvenir, but, alas, it’s been lost somewhere along the way. Thanks again and all the best.

Dear Peter! The 6 km walk was really exhausting, my shoes were also worn out (ha-ha), I hope your shoes are not!!! Kimmage is a very friendly part, lots of beautiful, colorful houses with colorful and arched doors. Eye catching K.C.R. House Bar (sorry if I wrote it wrong). Although my favorite is the red brick building, it is a pleasure to watch the colors change in this part of the city. I even heard a seagull!! It always gives me pleasure to see that the fence in front of the houses appears only as a decorative element and does not tower 2 meters high, and in the garden with a fighting dog. Special thanks to you for the buses!! Thank you very much for the experience as always.

Dear Susan. Thank you for coming along for this long stroll to the city centre. My shoes survived but my legs were a bit tired by the end of the day😂 I enjoyed taking the time to look at all the colourful houses along the way to. I would miss the seagulls calls if there weren't there so am always glad to hear them to. Thanks so much as always for walking along and supporting me! Have a great morning. Peter☘️
