EXTRACTING HONEY FOR BEGINNERS MAY 2022

Where I live , I seen on the news that a firefighter was keeping bees & bee boxes on his property , he was offering to give anyone lessons on how to keep & take care of bees as well as harvesting their honey . When you completed a 2 weekend class he gave you a complete bee box , tools , bee suit & all of the bees to you with it free . I saw this & called a number because I was interested in it , I talked to this firefighter & we set up a 2 weekend class for me to take . The class was very easy & I have to say it’s not to hard to take care of bees & do all the harvesting . I now am the proud owner of a bee colony for the last 4 years & the bees are thriving, just this early fall I got a honey harvest of 27 gallons & 14 pounds of clean bees wax not bad for a whole colony of free bees. Now I’m paying it forward & doing the same as the firefighter who showed me how to do it .

Nice work. When you remove the frames from the hives, what happened to the bees? How do you keep them away

@ahmadghanem thanks for the comment ! when we remove the frames to extract the honey we " shake" the bees off the frames into the hive and remove the frames straight away, the bees go onto other frames still in the hive, take a look at our latest video and you'll see how I " shake" the bees off a frame see you on the next video !!

The frames in my hives have wax foundation sheets, but yours seem to be made of plastic. Not seen these before - what are they called?
