My first time watching DD Ireland... it's got nowhere near the same feel or energy, all the dragons seem to have no charisma at all. I'm surprised that nobody questioned how this invention actually works, from what I can see it's just a normal electric wind turbine hooked up to the electric element in your heating tank? It'd be better to power your house from it and just keep your normal electric water heater. Running excess hot water straight into the radiators is NOT a good idea either. What if they've been turned off because the house is too warm already? Where does the heat go then? Either out a pressure relief valve and sprayed all over your wall/floor or something goes pop somewhere.... I can never understand why anyone would invest in a technical product without a technical understanding of it to know if it's a goer or not.

I think they claimed to be engineers. Most heater elements have an electric cut out sitting along side when the temperature is reached.

@@robertwoodliff2536 It probably would have some kind of cut-off or thermostat, but then as soon as your're up to temp, you're not getting any further benefits from the turbine until your water gets cold again. Much better to power the whole house and have as much utilisation as possible I'd say.

The minute he made that offer he regreted it - coming back from "the wall" with a counter offer gave him the excuse to withdraw, nothing much to it. They didn't ask for 20%, not even 30%, they asked for 40%, 9% shy of his offer. He could have stuck to his offer, as a take it or leave it, but he imediately withdrew it, which is why the other dragons were a bit perplexed.

I've been watching this version of dragon's den and OMG.. this version is very very ridiculous.. they always like to offer 40+% equity, and then out of ridiculously reason, and then in this one, he's out just because the inventors made a counter offer? like seriously? and these dragons are very very lack of charisma. Practically every business that goes on the Irish show is either not yet trading or only trading in small volumes so combined with the smaller size of the Irish market compared to the UK or US (especially for in-store products as only 2-3 distributors control basically the entire market) means there's way more risk for the dragons vs. the usual companies that go on the UK/US version of the show. The net worth of all the Irish dragons combined is less than 10% the combined net-worth of the UK dragons too.

Maybe he worded it poorly but it's not hard to understand what he meant by this. If you on average use 200$ worth of energy to heat water per month (arbitrary number just to illustrate the point) then after investing 4000 in this solution it will take longer to reach breaking point than if you're average was 400$ per month. The guy didn't mean that using more water than you did before installation will save your money, but that if you're average use of water is high then the breaking even point of the investment will come quicker than if you average is small. Basically, if you payed 400$ per month on something and now you pay 0 then you are saving more money than if you were paying 200$ per month before it became free,

Which is really disappointing cause I’m Irish lol. Honestly imo the American and British ones are the only ones worth watching. The Aussie one has its moments but it’s nowhere near the better ones. This Irish one’s by far the worst though. Literally zero redeeming qualities. It’s boring, the dragons almost always try to rob the entrepreneurs for wayyyy more equity than they deserve, and just generally don’t have the juice that their American & British counterparts have. Makes it considerably less intense.
