Some people were saying the clients were dirty because they had blackheads. I still have hope that she will come back, but I'm not shocked that she walked away.

I feel like his facial hair texture/thickness is conducive to his clogged pores. I kind of wish, whenever a hair pops out, that Josefa would use some tweezers to pluck it out! It would add another small layer of satisfaction. But I don't mean to complain. :(

unfortunately plucking the hair often leads to another ingrown as it grows back. My husband deals with this . But freeing the hair makes it hard to not have an opening and therefore get clogged again because there is a hair in the way. Where as the new hair grows slowly slightly below the skin and may go sideways, etc.

My boyfriend gets ingrown hairs on his face too. I free them, and if they're red/infected I tend to pluck them, but if they're normal I just leave them. I've never noticed my plucking leading to more ingrown hairs.

This guy's beard is not exactly well-cultivated. I doubt the plucked hairs would be missed. My boyfriend has never been able to grow a beard, even though he's already 28. Acne treatment/medication in his teens seems to have killed his facial hair. And the few he does get tend to be ingrown.

As I understand it, dealing with the hair (shaving, plucking, waxing) at the same time as doing extractions increases the risk of infection. It leaves the hair follicle more exposed. That's why they warn about not shaving your legs right before going to get a pedicure; it increases the risk of infection if there's any bacteria present. Not that I'm a medical professional, it's just what I've been told by some estheticians.

I personally think it has to do with our primate relatives, the social need to groom and pick. It's a bonding and relaxing exercise in much of the animal kingdom. Perhaps as we live in a world with less and less touching, this satiates a deep need of ours to do social grooming.
