while there are two main types of oil extraction mentioned in the video i.e. using solvent and mechanical press, the extraction of crude palm oil is solely by mechanical press/expeller...

1. Our cooking oil we are using today is it crude palm oil or crude palm kernel oil ? It will be helpful to inform us in last part of the slides so that we can relate to our daily life. 2. Some statistic will be nice. 1 tree = how much Fruit Brunch per year, how much oil produced? crude oil /crude pam kernel oil produced. Ask student to do the survey.and put in the next slides.

What part of the cake can be used for pig feed? We are thinking of growing (small) and processing big (for our whole area) palm oil. 20 000 trees were planted this year, 40 000 more in the next 3 years, so we have a few months to get info, and capital. We are in Northern Thailand.

The rainforest's in Indonesia and Malaysia are being more and more destroyed for palm oil plantations and therefore - deforestation because of the use of palm oil. Absolutely no good :-(

I'm sorry but you should get your facts right. Partially Hydrogenated vegetable oil is what results in substantial health alarming trans fat. This includes partially hydrogenated soybean oil that's common in US. Hydrogenated vegetable fat's trans fat content is always near nil or as per FDA specification.
