Good tip on the nuclear aspect in Rosai-Dorfman. I do Zielh-Neelsen in almost all histiocytic proliferations.

That’s not a bad idea. I once saw a mycobacterial pseudotumor that Gad áreas closely mimicking rosai Dorfman. Maybe I will make a video of that case one day.

My 16 hear old godson just got diagnosed with it. He had several biopsies which show non cancerous which is good but his lymph on neck, bladder, stomach and groin is swollen. He has constant diarrhea and fatigue. It is debilitating
@AliJapanLife3 жыл бұрын
One of my relatives we suspect has the same issue, she is 11 years old. It is been a year now and she still has the same issue on her neck. what is worrying is she has difficulty breathing at night every day. Does your godson experience the same issue? and how is his situation now?

@@LovesAlchemist That is good! 🙏🏻 A quick question, does he has difficulties to breathe at night while sleeping?
@LovesAlchemist3 жыл бұрын
@@AliJapanLife no, his didnt affect breathing. His affect was swollen glands. By groin and neck...it was more painful and cumbersome versus anything. He had trouble walking. Lemme ask my friend what meds finally worked because he was on a lot of steroids then tapered down amd is stable now...

Good afternoon, I watched a few videos on your rosai dorfman topics. Is it true that rosai dorfman, without delving in deeper, can mimic SLE and Kikuchi Fujimoto, at least from the lymph biopsy view? I have an ANA and dsDNA negative patient with all lupus features that had a basic node biopsy done (they didn’t delve) that was simply ruled as sinus histiocytosis
@JMGardnerMD6 күн бұрын
The term “Sinus histiocytosis” by itself is just a non specific reactive finding seen in lymph nodes in a wide variety of settings. It is not the same as Rosai Dorfman (sinus histocytosis with massive lymphadenopathy). I am not a lymph node pathology expert, but I’m not aware of Kikuchi or SLE having lymph node findings that would closely mimic RDD.

I’m so sorry to hear this. I have never seen a case of Rosai Dorfman involving the brain actually. I also do not know much about treatment of Rosai Dorfman as I am a diagnostic doctor not a treating doctor. Can you have him seen by a major medical center in India like Tata Memorial? MD Anderson in the USA also has experts in Rosai Dorfman and would be a good place I’d you are unable to find help in India. Best wishes for healing to him!
