Okay lemme break it to you guys I'm a metallurgist (metal specialist) in the department of forensic science and the red thing you see coming off that rug is definitely not rust, rugs don't catch rust easily unless it's been in contact with a metallic element for a very long time and you would've seen pieces of metal being washed out during the cleaning process if the rug really had any contact with a metal before. It's definitely blood!

What upsets me is they never clean the dirt off the back of the carpet first, that's where the bulk of it is. They just keep agitating the stuff under it making it look like it's extra dirty and they do 4x the amount of work they don't need to. It should be on a rack and sprayed down both sides first to get the bulk of it off, then in for the deep clean...

Okey y’all let me explain. That’s dye. The rug appears to be hand made and with hand made rugs of this material there is a lot of excess dye. You see it comes out the most by the fringe which is where most of the excess dye flows to while being made. :)
@its_MYbirthday7 ай бұрын
great theory, small issues. it looks rather thick like blood. Dye? More liquidity. another thing, he claimed it was rust. Wouldn’t he have known if it WAS in fact dye? great thought on it, though. I might just be overthinking, but that looks rather thick to be dye.

Everyone saying they think the red is blood. I’m pretty sure it’s the colouring of the carpet coming out, it looks like an authentic rug and authentic ones usually leak their colouring when saturated in water. Edit: Uhm well I didn’t expect this to have this many likes and replies😂 There are many theories of what that “colour” may be… honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it was bl00d. FYI: fresh blood is usually only bright red for less than an hour. Then it turns to a dull brownish-red colour the longer it's exposed to air. This is because the iron in blood being carried by hemoglobin is slowly losing oxygen. And, like regular iron, it rusts. That's why dried blood looks more brown than red. It's essentially rusted blood.
