"Just coming out of this elevator to enter the basement..." within the first 4 seconds of the video I knew this theater was out of my price range. Awesome video and setup. The single remote control is great when the rack/equipment is far away, but how do you handle things like game controllers? PS5 for example has bluetooth controllers but in my experience suffers if you have to go through a wall or two.
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice Жыл бұрын
Great question! The homeowner doesn't haven't any game consoles currently hooked up yet but when they do, we typically run an HDMI from the room where the rack is, into the theater and hide it in a cabinet or somewhere close by. That way the Xbox or PS5 is actually in the theater room with you so the controllers aren't having to connect to the system that is far away in the rack. Hope that helps!

I watch this every time I look at my setup, which is identical save for the Sony VPL-XW5000ES 4K HDR Laser Home Theater Projector. My only question is that I have a 9.4.4 setup and your online tool does not support 9.4.4, thus I am unable to design (some may argue that I do not need 9.4.4 at all, but that is another topic to tackle). Second, the video shows that the last row of seating is flush with the wall. Is it possible to hear the rear surround with appropriate sound travel and separation? Should there be some room between the back surround and the last row seating of at least 3-5 feet?
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice 8 ай бұрын
It sounds like you have a great set up. Our tool now includes wide speakers so you should be able to do 9.2.4, although the tool does not really give you exact sub locations> We always help our clients purchasing from us design the room. Ideally you want room between the back wall and the last row, but it is not always possible

Nice clean setup, but the white area of ceiling directly above the (too high screen for my taste) is absolutely KILLING the contrast of the picture with light spill kicking back to the screen. Ideally, the area at least 5 ft around the screen in all forward directions (not including the screen's wall) should be very dark and non-reflective. Black velvet is ideal, similar to what is already around the screen frame. I've done this with my own setup and the difference in picture quality is stunning!
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice Жыл бұрын
Thank you, glad you liked it. That would be ideal but there is always a design trade off to deal with and with a projector of this light output, it already has amazing pop.
@bentonpix
@bentonpix Жыл бұрын
@@AudioAdvice It’s all about contrast not brightness. Brightness doesn’t overcome light kickback, in fact it can make it worse. Stopping the kickback with light absorption at reflective surfaces does. I’m sure that projector has amazing pop, but with light absorption treatment near the screen , especially the ceiling, it could be much better.

The sound when moving from speaker to speaker in a given scene.The best would be that all the sound reproduction to be faithful, then they have to be of the same kind of speakers in terms of its power, frequency response, attack, sound throw pattern, etc ., Only then, the imaging can be matched, so that its seamless sound everywhere .Hence close to the natural feel of the content.Its amazing to experience. Yes, I know the limitations of the price and size to achieve it and NOT many practice that way. The companies try to get closer in doing this by, using the same Midrange-Tweeter combination to the Atmos & Surrounds. Also, the Ceiling mount multiway speakers, even if its concentric, the image of the sound will be poor by its virtue of build. We can try full range to minimise this for a better imaging. Hope this makes sense and give it a try if possible to enrich the unique experience in the Home Theater Room for as many seats possible. Deenadayalan

I love how no one every criticizes anything. The room looks great. Rear seats against the back wall and seating that is off center make me cringe. Maybe the homeowner just wanted max seating in that space, idk. I didn't see any acoustic treatment, why? I think it needs another pair of side speakers and the rears should be closer together. Another pair of subs in the back of the room would balance out the bass better. Nice room, kind of sterile design.
@AudioAdvice
@AudioAdvice Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. Yes, this homeowner wanted to maximize seating in this theater. And every wall is covered in acoustic panels. It's a mix of absorption and diffusion placed in certain areas. All the speakers were placed within Dolby spec but adding more subs in the back would be ideal. Obviously it is always a balance between what the customer wants and making it perform the best it possibly can. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Cheers 👍

Light colored ceiling is a mistake especially when the screen is so close to the ceiling. You can see the high amount of light reflecting off the ceiling and spoiling the image.
