This TV series was the best depiction of the Holocaust by far...….still amazes me how they actually filmed it, the acting was top notch......still puts a shiver down my spine how humans are capable of such atrocities

There were some great actors even as guest stars. G. W. Bailey (our always loved Captain Harris from Police Academy and now as cop in Major Crimes), Günther Maria Halmer, a great actor here in Germany, or Hardy Krüger (Germany meets Hollywood), Peter Graves (Mr. Mission Impossible). And the main cast: Robert Mitchum (the old Hollywood statue), Jane Seymour (the Bond Girl Solitaire), Steven Berkoff (Bond's Octopussy enemy), Sharon Stone. Stars which you remember, when you watch the show.

Recasting Natalie with Jane Seymour was the best decision they made. That scene in the "tunnel" that they clipped here, where she is crawling on her hands and knees? Ali McGraw, bless 'er heart, could not have pulled that off. I think they also made a good choice recasting Aaron with John Gielgud. John Houseman was a guy that was hard to ever work up much affinity for.

Jane was absolutely magnificent in this role. You forgot you were watching a movie. It was so real. There is no way Ali McGraw could have played this part. I just don't think she had the talent for it. Jane is I think the best actress in our day. She is incredible no matter whar role she is in, but her performance in WAR really stands out. I don't understand how she did not get an award for her role.

What is crazy to me is how they get children to play these roles when the terror is prob real for them cuz they don't know better. I feel like that would be traumatizing. Important to teach but my god hard for children.

Jane Seymour. Bravo beyond words. The guy playing Byron needed more emotion. No way he doesn’t break down upon seeing Natalie ... and the line “at least I could fight back” showed what a doof he was. Also, seeing Louis for the first time, ‘yep, that’s him’. Yuck.
@waleoguntokun34754 жыл бұрын
That was his second time Byron was seeing Louis, please. He saw him first when Avram connected him with his family, through the American Ambassador in Marseille, I think. Please, watch to confirm. Can't remember which episode again now.
