Found your review, and was finally able to find one of these knives. Obviously it's a cool looking beast of a knife that they put a lot of thought into engineering and making. Seems overdone in some areas, and could have been done better in a couple others, for example I don't like how the lanyard gets all twisted up if you try to use the bolt pin. There is also one or two issues with the case, but may just take a bit of time getting used to it. I saw one video where the guy stuffed the knife into the case and complained about getting it out where it appears to go in butt end first, and then there is a little accessory flap that gets in the way when you try to put the knife in or take it out. And I also like the accessory red lanyard that you put on in the written review, and seems like it makes that a bit easier to deal with. Great review, Thanks!

Hello, my friend, is it possible to open this knife one-handed? Perhaps flicking it open?
@TacticalReviews Жыл бұрын
Hi @Nifty yes indeed OHO is possible. I shot this video inside my small light tent, so didn't have room to flick it open, but as with many heavy bladed folders, you can get the blade to open with a firm hand action using the weight of the blade to open it.

Like the sheath idea but this lock is just ok. Wander tactical does a better job too because of the better material. Aluminum is more fitting for a budget model.

If you are referring to the Hurricane and Mistral, they have aluminium handles, so I don't understand your comment. They appear to have a locking pin, but this is not tethered, so would easily be lost. Not really a like for like comparison apart from being a folder with locking pin. Do we include the CRKT Journeyer?

Their product catalogue is not accurate then as it simply says "Handle Material: Aluminum". They are under-selling themselves if that is the case. Seems odd as this type of thing is normally played up, not down by the makers.

Tactical Reviews they have a T version of both. Problem with aluminum is that it becomes the weak point. It’s a soft material but also easy to mill and affordable for manufacturers.

@@f22shift you do not understand the concept. Have you thought about material strength in the type of aluminum or weight?

Great knife. The locking system is annoying and could be a lot better. Again very nice knife. ER should upgrade their blade steel though. For the cost N690 is a medium average steel.
@TacticalReviews2 жыл бұрын
What would you change for the locking system? With the sheath allowing for it to be carried like a fixed blade as well as folded, it is sort of expected that you choose fixed or folding for the configuration (so the locking pin is slow to fit and remove).

There is absolutely no such thing as objectively better or worse steels, only people who have 0 background in metallurgy spew such bs

It’s designed for the military who can’t carry fancy sharpening equipment and may not be skilled so ease of sharpening is more important. It is a bit pricey, I’d rather they dropped the price than upgraded the steel it’s not really in a soldiers budget.
