I am always shocked at how people have to put their bare feet up in planes. It’s absolutely disgusting and they have no respect for anyone else.

As a huge aviation fan, my fav part of this trip was seeing that A340 in such a remote and icy world. You just don't see that every day. I would have loved to have watched the takeoff and landing from the ground. One of the awesome things about modern aviation is that humans can (if they have the money, of course) travel from Antarctica to the Maldives (essentially, two completely different worlds) in a matter of hours. Amazing.

Seriously can't believe they brought out an A340 for like 12 people lol. If they were doing a private flight like that they should be using something like a G650 or if they really wanted more than 2 engines maybe a Falcon 7x.
@Republic3D

@@Kev376Seems like a lot more than 12 people with all the scientists and staff. I'd feel safer in an A340-300 than in a Gulfstream or Falcon.

Thanks for this series on Antarctica, it’s truly a magical place. I was always researching going there via Argentina, but didn’t know there are flights from SA. I only got two continents left to visit; Africa and Antarctica, so it’s good to know I can do both on the same trip.

It was a particular treat to have Andrew as our special guest guide--he took the time to read our comments and responded to many of them. I had to laugh a bit at you showing us the accoutrements on a plane formerly owned by Emirates--of course you already knew how all the features worked in your seating area.
